Such useful household appliances as a dishwasher have been “registered” in your apartment for a long time, and you wanted to buy it for a summer residence? You don’t always want to fork out for expensive options, and high power and impressive dimensions are not exactly a country option. There is one more “but” – not every holiday village has a centralized water supply system. Then you can buy a model without connecting to the water supply.
How real autonomous PMM is, you will find out in the review.
Autonomous dishwasher: myth or reality
What does a dishwasher that does not require a water connection look like and work? Are you already looking forward to a colorful review of a huge range of models? Such machines exist, and they are truly autonomous. But whether they are dishwashers – remains to be seen. Experts don’t call them machines, but “devices.”
Meet Circo and NoStrom EcoWash Dinner Set. Both devices do not require electricity or plumbing.
To start washing, water is manually poured into the hopper and detergent is poured in. Next, you need to turn the handle – like in a meat grinder. This is manual labor with only one difference from the usual washing – the hands remain dry.
You can note the advantages of these “machines”:
- saving resources;
- partial absence of manual labor.
Cons:
- the range of manual dishwashers is small, the price is too high, demand is low;
- the washing bin hardly accommodates one set of dishes;
- water is filled and drained manually;
- washing quality is not perfect.
It is unprofitable and irrational to use the miracle of technology – you will spend more time and effort on searching and buying than you will get the benefit of the device. We propose to solve the problem with connecting the machine in the absence of water. We will help you choose the right model and give instructions for connecting.
How to choose a dishwasher for a summer residence
You have already realized that a manual dishwasher is a complete farce, and offline operation is inconvenient for the user. A portable machine is suitable for camping enthusiasts, but for a summer residence you need less spartan conditions and high quality washing. Any PMM can be connected to water – for this you need to supply water under a pressure of 0,3-1 MPa.
In principle, any dishwasher model is suitable – let it be large or compact. It is necessary to filter the water, pour it into a suitable container – a barrel or tank – and then provide a connection. You can also choose a model with a water tank, but the essence does not change.
How to connect PMM without plumbing
There is a non-standard, but simple way to connect in the absence of water supply. Moreover, the machine will work no worse than under standard conditions. The main advantage of this connection method is the minimum cost for consumables and parts. For installation you need:
- a plastic canister of at least 10 liters, hermetically sealed;
- fitting ¾, nut with seal;
- tubeless tire valve;
- 1,5-meter piece of irrigation hose;
- clamps – pair, winding, auto-sealant;
- a pair of steel corners;
- board 80 cm long, 3 cm wide;
- autocompressor and starting charger for 18A.
To connect in conditions without water pressure, you will need the following tools: pliers, a drill and a set of drills, a knife and a small adjustable wrench.
Having collected consumables and tools, start work:
- Move the machine to where you plan to use it – put it against the wall in close proximity to the outlet.
- To the left and higher than the PMM body is located, screw the corners onto the wall and put a crossbar on them – so that it resembles a shelf.
- Drill a hole of suitable diameter in the cover and install the valve from the tire, fill the joint with sealant.
- In the bottom of the container, make a hole in which to put the fitting – so that the thread goes inward, put the gasket inside and tighten the fitting using the nut.
- Outside, install a piece of hose on the fitting, sealing its connection with a clamp.
- Connect the other end of the hose to the PMM inlet valve or to its original inlet hose. It is important to make all connections tight.
- Fill the container with water, screw on the lid and place the canister on a makeshift shelf.
- Now connect the autocompressor to the starting device, and screw the compressor hose onto the valve. Apply pressure to “0,3 points” to keep the canister from blowing apart.
- Remove the compressor connection and start the dishwasher.
- If water went into the PMM, you did everything right. If water does not flow, you need to slightly increase the pressure using a compressor.
Important! To prevent the container from exploding from high pressure, home craftsmen advise installing an additional valve or immediately buying a high-strength container.
Now the question of how to wash dishes in the country in summer and winter, you will not have. You have learned whether it is possible to use a regular dishwasher in the countryside. If you still think about a manual autonomous machine, we warned you that it will not please you with the performance and quality of washing.
