Dishwasher with turbo dryer – how to choose

The most important step in the processing of dishes in the dishwasher is drying. You won’t surprise anyone with condensation (natural) drying, but a dishwasher with a turbo dryer is a rarer model. In the review, we will consider the principle of operation of “turbo”, present popular models with this function and reviews of real users.

Most people like the automated process – few people want to wipe each plate by hand. If you leave them to dry on the table, then stains and smudges cannot be avoided. What stands out “turbo”?

Turbo dryer: why and how it works

Which dryer is better – turbo or condensation? To understand the issue, you need to understand what it is. In the PMM device of the first type, there is a special heater for the air blown into the bunker by a fan. The device resembles the design of a conventional hair dryer.

Why do you need a fan heater? Everything is extremely simple: it reduces the drying time of plates, cups and cutlery. Even if you rinse the plates with well-heated water and send them to dry naturally, the process will take some time. A turbo dryer will save time, but will entail additional energy costs.

Important! Such additional components of the PMM as a heating element and a fan complicate the design of the equipment and increase the risk of malfunctions. Therefore, before you buy a “fancy” dishwasher, think about whether you are ready to incur extra costs.

What’s the Difference

Drying “Turbo” is not the only alternative to the condensing type. There are also zeolite and intensive.

The intensive type combines turbo and condensate drying, but there is no fan heater in the PMM design, but there is heat exchanger – a container filled with cold water. A difference in temperature and pressure is created, so the air circulates through the hopper – it dries the dishes faster, while the cost of electricity is close to zero. Machines equipped with an intensive type of drying are cheaper than those with a “turbo”.

Zeolite type is a relatively new development of designers. The main active ingredient is mineral in nature. Zeolite absorbs moisture while releasing heat, which is supplied to plates and other utensils.

Important! Zeolite in the PMM design is extremely rare, for example, in expensive dishwashers from Siemens.

Pretty economical dishwasher. But there is one minus: I often take out the plates underdone, with drops of water. In use for more than a year – I wash it with 3-in-1 tablets, sometimes we divide it in half, if you need a half mode. The dishes are washed well if they are arranged correctly.

I bought it purely because of the turbo dryer and the program for heavily soiled dishes. I also like the fast mode. I rarely wash my dishes, as a bachelor life forces me to eat at cafes. Therefore, the dishes are either fresh, or vice versa with three days of dirt. I did not find any cons – I got everything I wanted, I put 5+.

All classes are A, and this is not only according to documents, but also in practice. The plates are shiny from cleanliness, I never wash anything myself. I like the compactness with such spaciousness. On management, everything is clear – I looked into the instructions only once. The main thing is that the dishes are dry, nothing needs to be wiped, and all this in a matter of minutes. Fragile dishes do not break, there used to be PMM “Indesit”, so many glasses were broken for us. My impression of the machine is very positive.
