Dishwasher width: what affects

When organizing a comfortable life, it is important to know the exact dimensions of all the equipment that will be installed. Knowing what the width of the dishwasher is, you can harmoniously fit it into the kitchen set. Today, manufacturers offer cars of various widths and are not limited to standard sizes of 45 and 60 cm.

Why is the width of the PMM important

In the vast majority of cases, dishwashing machines are made in standard sizes or with a deviation from the norm of a couple of millimeters. This was imprinted by GOST 27454, which was valid until January 1, 1994. According to the document, the parameters of the width, depth and height of the dishwasher should not exceed 50 cm, 60 cm and 81,5 cm, respectively. The deviation was permissible no more than half a centimeter. This was quite reasonable, because there were practically no difficulties with embedding and installation.

Today, interior solutions have become more daring than at the dawn of the 90s. Furniture is made taking into account the individual wishes of customers and is already far from the standards for which household appliances were created. Now users are faced with the fact that such furniture does not fit (or “dangle” in it) many household appliances, including built-in dishwashers. It is especially disappointing when a couple of centimeters become an obstacle to installation.

Problems with the installation of freestanding machines can also be. For example, you left the distance between the sink and the cabinet at 45 cm, hoping to install appliances between them, did not take this moment into account and bought a machine 44 cm or 48 cm wide. And that’s it: the dishwasher does not get into the place prepared for it.

That is why we recommend that you take a responsible attitude both to the choice of PMM and to the manufacture of a furniture set, so as not to encounter unpleasant moments in the future.

Important! Most of the machines on the market are PMM with standard dimensions that were once prescribed in the specified GOST.

Full size dishwashers

These machines are available in the following sizes:

• width – from 55 to 60 cm;
• depth – from 55 to 60 cm;
• height – from 80 to 85 cm.

The capacity of a full-sized model, depending on the type of installation (embedded or freestanding), can be from 10 to 15 sets.

Wide dishwashers may not be a built-in type – they can be installed under the countertop. In some versions, a removable top cover is provided, which helps to lower the technique by a couple of centimeters. In the case of a fixed cover, you will have to install the machine as it is. Let’s compare the parameters of popular full-sized dishwashers in order to clearly understand what sizes are most often found on the market.

Summary. The width of most PMMs is 60 cm, in isolated cases – 59,5 and 59,6 cm. There are practically no machines with a width of 57 and 58 cm on the market, but there are several options for 56 cm, for example, Samsung DWBG 570 B.

Narrow PMM

A narrow vehicle can be less than 45 cm, while its height ranges from 81 to 85 cm, and the depth can be from 51 to 65 cm. crockery set.

But in a small kitchen it is sometimes difficult to place a car even at 45 cm, so many buyers are interested in models of 40, 37, 35 and even 30 cm. options are not for sale.

In some online stores you can see advertising promises about the “mega-narrow” case, but this is nothing more than an advertising ploy. The Chinese are especially good at embellishing the data on technical characteristics, but in fact it turns out that the case is 44 cm wide – no less.

Remember that 30, 35 and 40 cm are too small to optimally arrange all the necessary details and still accommodate dish baskets.

Like full-size PMMs, narrow ones can be made in two versions: built-in and stationary. In the table below you will find options for narrow cars with their main characteristics and cost.

As our rating shows, the Kuppersberg GL 44,5 has a minimum width of 4588 cm, the rest are presented in sizes 44,8 and 45 cm.

Attention! PMM with a width of 46 to 54 cm are not represented on the Russian market. We only met Hansa HDW 9241 (49 cm) and Ardo AW5B (48 cm), but it is not currently on sale. As for the 50 cm technique, Wellton released the WDW-3209A (compact desktop PMM), but it also did not go on sale in the domestic market.

Compact technology

What is the width of a compact dishwasher, you ask. Small cars can be 54,5 to 60 cm wide, and typically 43,5 to 60 cm high and 49,4 to 60 cm deep.

The narrowest desktop machine is Electrolux ESF 2300 OK, with dimensions of 54,5 × 51,5 × 44,7 cm, containing 6 crockery sets. Basically, the standard width of such PMMs is 55 cm. Consider the popular options:

• Flavia CI 55 HAVANA. WxDxH = 55x50x43,8 cm, bin holds 6 sets. How much does such a machine cost? According to YandexMarket, its price varies from 13 to 950 rubles.

• Candy CDCP 6/ES. WxDxH = 55x50x43,8 cm. 6 programs in total, hopper for 6 sets. The price is 12 rubles.

• Midea MCFD-0606. Dimensions: 55x50x43,8 cm. Also a bunker for 6 sets and a functional of 6 modes. The cost is only 9 rubles.

• Korting KDF 2050 W – German-made PMM, worth 12 rubles. Holds 591 sets, dimensions: 6x55x50 cm, total 43,8 programs and 7 temperature settings.

• Indesit ICD 661 is a compact machine, the parameters of which are 55x50x48 cm. Like the previous units, the hopper is designed for 6 sets of dishes, programs – 6 pieces. The price is 14 rubles.

In stores you can find similar offers from the leading German brands Bosch or Siemens, but their width is not 55, but 60 cm:

• Siemens SK 76M544 is a partially built-in dishwasher designed for 6 sets. Dimensions: 60x50x45,4 cm. Programs – 6, temperature regimes – 5. Price – 45 rubles.

• Bosch SKE 52M55 is another semi-embedded model with a 6-set hopper and 6 cycle types. The dimensions are 60x50x45 cm, the cost is 39 rubles.

Note! The only compact machine with a width of 56 cm is produced by the BELTRATTO trademark (LAC 4600), but it is quite difficult to find it on sale. As for units with a width of 57, 58 and 59 cm, these do not exist on the Russian market.

Non-standard dimensions PMM

Dishwashers that are rarely found in stores due to non-standard parameters:

• Smeg STO905-1 is an Italian-made dishwasher with dimensions of 85,9x55x57,8 cm, of which 85,9 is the width. It is fully integrated into the kitchen set and holds as many as 12 sets. It looks like an ordinary car, laid on its side – this is the key feature. Extremely quiet operation with a noise level of 43 dB, 10 programs and a full type of leakage protection make it a powerful and efficient technique. The only thing that can confuse the buyer is the price of 100 rubles.

• Smeg STO905 is a similar machine with similar features and similar functionality. The absence of some features reduced the price to 77 rubles.

• The Smeg BLV2VE-2 is a stand-alone machine in bright colors (yellow, orange, etc.) and retro design. Its width is 60 cm, and its height is as much as 89 cm, while the body goes 67 cm deep. 13 sets of dishes will fit in the hopper. Maximum noiselessness is ensured by a noise level of 42 dB.
