Principles of the diet
The diet of a diabetic person must be as balanced as that of a healthy person. They must appear in it carbohydrateswhich are the main source of energy for the body, however, their amount should be controlled. This is especially important for people who are taking insulin. You should try to plan the dishes so that the amount of carbohydrates in each meal is similar, so that there are no large fluctuations in their level. Simple and refined sugars should be limited, and they should be the basis complex carbohydrates. It is worth paying attention to index (IG) and glycemic load (GL) products and dishes. The supply of fat, especially saturated and trans fat, should be reduced to 30 percent of total energy. Protein, in turn, should account for up to 20 percent of the total energy. As diabetes predisposes you to cardiovascular problems, it is also important limiting the supply of salt, which reduces the risk of high blood pressure. Bad for good
Diabetes requires dietary intervention and changes in the current diet. You have to replace what can harm your body with a meal that is safe for your body. However, it does not mean less tasty. It is true that you must avoid a wide berth, sweets, sugar, fatty foods, white flour products and meals that can significantly raise your blood sugar levels, but many foods can still be eaten.
