Diseases of the cardiovascular system

Contents

Today, only diabetes and oncology can compare with cardiovascular diseases in terms of prevalence. These diseases became a real scourge not only of the twentieth, but also of the twenty-first century.

Insufficient physical activity remains the main reason. After all, training is very important for muscle tone. The heart and vascular walls also contain muscles that require training and exertion. It is known that in ancient times people spent a lot of energy every day, unlike modern man. But the needs of our body have remained the same. A person must walk from six kilometers a day in order to experience the necessary load.

In the past, people had more free time, which they spent with benefit, completely devoting it to strenuous mental and physical labor. But a modern person is unlikely to be able to live in the rhythm of Pushkin or Lermontov.

If the vessels are not trained, not taught to adapt to constantly changing conditions, then this can provoke a decrease in immunity. And, as you know, infections often negatively affect the heart. A common complication is myocardial inflammation.

Excess weight, which occurs due to insufficient activity, also contributes to the development of heart failure, and then atherosclerosis.

The current rhythm of life has a bad effect on the human nervous system, which has to pass through itself a huge amount of information every day, most of which is negative. Due to the close interconnection of the nervous and vascular systems, the latter can be significantly affected by bad news and emotions. After all, stress causes heart palpitations, and anxiety or fear impairs blood circulation in the heart.

Various diseases affect a specific area of blood vessels or the heart:

• Atherosclerosis attacks the arteries and veins,

• Myocarditis affects the heart,

• Hypertension – the entire cardiovascular system as a whole.

There are two reasons for the occurrence of heart disease – it is either congenital or acquired.

Myocarditis or endocarditis develops as a consequence of past infections, and myocardial dystrophy – from toxins entering the bloodstream during infection.

Veins and arteries have different functions, their structure is also different, respectively, and their diseases are different. Veins are often affected by varicose veins or phlebitis. This is especially true of the lower limbs, due to the heavy load in this area. The arteries are affected by atherosclerosis, as a result of which they narrow, which impairs the supply of blood to the organs. Hypertension affects all types of blood vessels, it increases pressure in the entire vascular system of the body.

Ischemic disease occurs as a consequence of advanced atherosclerosis, when the coronary arteries are affected. It is accompanied by angina pectoris, with complications in the form of myocardial infarction, as well as cardiosclerosis and arrhythmias.

Heart failure often develops as a result of atherosclerosis. Its symptoms are shortness of breath, swelling and blue discoloration of the skin.

For the treatment of these diseases, you should immediately contact a cardiologist. Since not diagnosed in time, heart disease is prone to progression. And they respond well to treatment only in the initial stages. The examination and ECG are best done once a year.

It is possible to prevent the development of cardiovascular diseases by avoiding nervous overstrain, to monitor the atmosphere within the family, from which problems arise more often. Cardiologists recommend forgiving loved ones and not hiding grievances, since these are the main causes of heart disease. It is necessary to experience as many positive emotions as possible – this is the best prevention of any disease.

An effective workout of the heart and blood vessels is a regular visit to the sauna or bath, as well as special hardening procedures. With a constant sharp change in temperature, there is an alternating narrowing and expansion of blood vessels. It is better to start doing such procedures from childhood. A child who is constantly wrapped around grows up more vulnerable to infections that can pave the way for heart and vascular disease.

Do not forget about muscle activity and sports. Swimming, walking, cycling are especially useful. Healthy sleep lasting 8-10 hours is an integral part of it. Excess weight is unacceptable, as it leads to increased blood pressure. It is also better to reduce the intake of salt, which retains water in the body, thereby loading the blood vessels. The same goes for the habit of drinking coffee. Smokers should also consider the consequences of their addiction. After all, it has been noticed that they are in a special risk zone for such diseases.
