Sciatica is identified with stabbing, strong, tearing pain, accompanied by muscle weakness, numbness and sensory disturbances located in the lumbosacral region, which radiate to the leg and buttock.
Try and implement five herbal recipes that will ease the discomfort associated with sciatica.
Stinging nettle terrible? not necessarily!
Underestimated, identified with stinging weed nettle. Most of us have not yet realized that it can be used in the treatment of sciatica, neuritis, lumbago, arthritic and rheumatic diseases. The leaves and roots used in herbal medicine provide valuable minerals – silicon, magnesium, iron, manganese, calcium and phosphorus, as well as flavonoids, carotenoids, histamine, serotonin, acetylcholine, organic acids such as formic or silica, pantothenic acid, vitamins A, C , B2 and K. It is worth consuming up to 3 glasses of its infusion between meals every day – 2 tablespoons of dried leaves pour a glass of boiling water.
Midsummer herb
St. John’s wort, called St. John’s herb, blooms on June 24, i.e. on Saint John. Contains vitamins A and C and flavonoids. The infusion is used in the treatment of sciatica, rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis and arthritis.
Currant and meadowsweet
Prepare a mixture that will consist of blackcurrant leaves, wild strawberries, poplar buds, meadowsweet flowers and birch leaves in equal proportions. Boil the decoction for 3 minutes, in which there will be 1 tablespoon of herbs per quarter of a glass. Drink in the morning and evening, between meals.
Don’t go without lilac!
We usually use elderberries only to decorate our apartments. Its flowers contain flavonoids, amines, mineral salts, glucose, phenolic compounds, organic acids and even benzaldehyde. On the other hand, fruits contain anthocyanins, carotenoids, reducing sugars, organic acids, B vitamins and vitamin C. Elderberry can be successfully used both for sciatica and trigeminal neuritis, e.g. in the form of a concentrated fruit decoction. To prepare it and enjoy its properties, prepare 15-20 g of elderberries. After pouring them with a glass of water, boil for 20 minutes, then strain through a sieve. The decoction is recommended to drink 1-2 times a day.
Klimuszko’s method
We mix together 50 g of mugwort herb, birch leaves, St. John’s wort, lingonberry leaves and bilberry, couch grass rhizome, angelica root, meadowsweet flowers, primrose and lavender and viburnum coral bark. To prepare a decoction, pour a cup of boiling water over a tablespoon of this mixture. Leave covered for 3 hours, then strain and warm slightly. It is advisable to drink the decoction 3 times a day, 20 minutes before a meal. When we run out of the mixture, we rest from herbal medicine for a week, the second time for 12 days. For the third time, we consume the prepared mixture as a preventive measure. During herbal therapy, we should rub horseradish water into sore spots. For this purpose, pour a tablespoon of ground horseradish with a glass of cold water, then leave it for 2 hours.
