These items are in every home, and you use them every day!
And mind you, the list did not include the toilet, which is fraught with a huge amount of bacteria. But there are things that are just as dangerous!
1. Bath
We love to soak up the hot, scented bubble bath. Leaving it in a somewhat relaxed state, we sometimes forget to rinse the bath. And it needs not only to be rinsed, but also thoroughly washed and preferably with a cleaning agent. The drain hole of the bathtub is a real abode of bacteria that are dangerous to health! Take the time and spend 5 minutes cleaning the bath – both before and after water treatments.
2. Mobile phones
Did you know that mobile phones overtake … the toilet? We grab it with dirty hands (and not only us!), And then apply it to our ear and face. All pathogenic bacteria are deposited on the skin. This threatens not only skin irritations, but also more dangerous diseases – for example, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
3. Door handles
Even household doorknobs are a threat. It was not for nothing that my mother taught in childhood – when I came home, wash my hands right away. Don’t you dare to grab anything! We bring in a million bacteria from the street that just crave to take root in your home. Therefore, do not neglect cleaning the door handles when cleaning the apartment.
4. Carpets
No matter how you vacuum the rugs, don’t even hope for its perfect cleanliness. This is the field for the life of pathogenic bacteria! Want to know what these nasty bacteria feed on? Us! More precisely, the skin cells that we lose – scratched and here’s a portion of fucking bacteria. Disgusting? Then do a wet cleaning of the rug as often as possible.
By the way, synthetic carpets are very dangerous for health. Some of them may have a toxic impregnation, the effect of which will be felt by all allergy sufferers in the family.
5. Curtains and curtains
A true dust mite paradise! Curtains can hang for months waiting to be washed, and mites grow in family clans. So do not excuse your laziness – arrange washing at least 2 times a month!
6. Household chemicals
The entire cleaning arsenal of any housewife can be equated with chemical weapons. If you clean in an unventilated area, inhale harmful substances! By the way, this also applies to air fresheners. If it is not possible to clean with an open window, then use a special respirator. Save your lungs! And don’t forget the gloves!
7. The handle of the water crane
Not only does the humidity just thrive on the bacteria, but the faucet handle takes the brunt of the germs upon returning home. Even after passing all the doorknobs, we run to the tap to wash our hands. But then the faucet should be rinsed and wiped.
8. Handbags
We will not discuss the contents of the purse – there are many “dirty things” among it: from money to a mobile phone. You probably noticed the habit of putting your bag on the table in the office, on the counter in the store, sometimes even on the floor. And then we carry the bag home! And it would be okay to leave it in the hallway or dressing room – sometimes the bag goes straight to the bed or chair.
9. Kitchen sink
The most unsanitary place in your home! If you conduct a thorough analysis of the average kitchen sink, then you will be horrified to discover such dangerous bacteria as E. coli or salmonella. Remember how often your sink got clogged with cleanings? After cleaning, you should fill in a special antibacterial cleaning agent, which somewhat minimizes the growth of bacteria. Although it will not reduce them to nothing.
10. Dishwashing sponges
Change them every week! Necessarily! Do not bring them to a state of grease, because after a couple of dish washes they have already absorbed a huge amount of microbes.
11. Dirty laundry
Stacking a washing machine or a basket with dirty laundry and waiting for X-hour for a grand wash? Forget about this harmful and dangerous habit! While your laundry is “languishing”, germs and bacteria begin to multiply actively. And even washing will not save you from them! Moreover, bacteria in the water will transfer to another load of laundry. To put it bluntly, you’re blabbing clothes in a cocktail of germs!
12. Cutting boards
This item is in the kitchen of any housewife. And it can also cause significant health damage. Raw meat that is cut on the board also carries bacteria. And if you don’t rinse the board well, then your next dinner may end up in the restroom. By the way, it is better to purchase plastic boards – they are better cleaned. But wooden ones absorb liquids (for example, the blood of raw meat).
13. Switches
Just like the handle of a water tap, it takes the first blow of a person returning from the street. Therefore, do not forget about them during general cleaning!
14. Mattress
How pleasant it is to bask in a warm bed wrapped in a soft blanket. It probably never occurred to you that you are not luxuriating alone, but in the company of bacteria such as E. coli and even staphylococcus aureus. Did you know that after five years of use, the mattress gradually gains weight. And dust mites contribute to this! If you want to sleep well, clean your mattress once a week.
15. Keyboard
“Klava” will be dirtier than a mobile phone! If you live in a large family, then imagine how many people were sitting at your computer. What if a particularly forgetful family member didn’t wash their hands after using the toilet? And what if the child, having come running after school, immediately sat down at the computer?
16. Cat or Dog Supplies
Trays are not even discussed! Bowls for food are also considered to be no less dirty. Do not wash your pet’s dishes in the kitchen sink, but rather in the bathroom. And before kissing a cat or a dog on a cute face, think about how they wash themselves!
17. Toothbrush
We will greatly disappoint you if we say that even frequent toothbrush changes will not save you from germs. Due to the high humidity in the bathroom, pathogenic bacteria are actively developing in the bristles of the toothbrush. Alternatively, you can keep the brush in a special case, but for this you need to wait until it dries. Otherwise, the formation of mold and mildew cannot be avoided, which, by the way, is no less dangerous to health.
18. Plastic bottle
Some plastic bottles use biphenol A, which is considered a toxic substance. The bottle itself is not dangerous, but only as long as you do not heat it up. So don’t use empty plastic bottles as a heating pad or fill them with hot liquid. The same applies to convenience foods in plastic containers – it is better to put the food on a plate and only then in the microwave.
19. Dish towel
Will compete with the other most dirty item in the kitchen – a dishwashing sponge. Better to use paper towels.
20. Shower curtain
The same humid environment in the bathroom contributes to the development of mold and mildew. And even cleaning does not always help – so you should think about getting rid of the curtain once and for all.
