Pharmachologic effect: The drug is used for functional disorders of urination associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia. The extract from the fruits of Serenoa repens (or Sabal serrulata) has anti-inflammatory, antiexudative and antiandrogenic effects. The mechanism of anti-inflammatory and anti-exudative action is due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, which leads to a decrease in the permeability of the vascular wall and swelling of the gland tissues. Anti-inflammatory and anti-exudative action is especially important during attacks, accompanied by a rush of blood to the pelvic organs. The mechanism of antiandrogenic action has not been fully elucidated, but may be due to inhibition of type 5 1-alpha reductase, resulting in impaired conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone, which stimulates the proliferation of prostate cells.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity. Side effects: Allergic reactions are possible, rarely – stomach pain. Dosing and Administration: Inside, after eating, without chewing, drinking a small amount of liquid, 320 mg / day at the same time. The course of treatment is determined by the doctor.
