Diprophos is a hormonal drug used, inter alia, in in endocrinology, dermatology, rheumatology and allergology. The preparation has immunosuppressive, antipruritic, antiallergic and anti-inflammatory effects. Diprophos is available as a suspension for injection and can only be obtained with a prescription.

Diprophos indications for use
The active substances in Diprophos are betamethasone dipropionate and betamethasone sodium phosphate. It is used in the general and local treatment of acute or chronic conditions that respond to corticosteroid therapy, such as:
- diseases of the musculoskeletal system and soft tissues (RA, osteoarthritis, bursitis, ankylosing spondylitis, epicondylitis, nerve root inflammation, coccygeal pain, lumbago, torticollis, gelatinous cyst tendon capsule, bony spurs, fasciitis ),
- allergic diseases (chronic bronchial asthma – supportive in asthmatic conditions, hay fever, angioedema, allergic bronchitis, seasonal or allergic rhinitis, drug reactions, serum sickness, insect bites),
- skin diseases (atopic dermatitis, fatty skin death, contact dermatitis, severe dermatitis after sun exposure, urticaria, hypertrophic lichen planus, limited lichen planus, alopecia areata, discoid lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, keloids, pemphigus, cystic acne),
- collagen diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, dermatomyositis, polyarteritis nodosa),
- adrenal-genital syndrome,
- ulcerative colitis,
- Leśniowski and Crohn’s disease,
- psylosis,
- foot diseases (bursitis under the callus over the joint, stiff toe, varus of the 5th toe),
- conditions requiring subconjunctival injections,
- blood abnormalities treatable with corticosteroids,
- nephritis,
- nephrotic syndrome.
Dosage of Diprophos
- General treatment: initially 1-2 ml, deep intramuscularly into the gluteal muscle, repeat the dose if necessary.
- Dokaletkowo: 1-2 ml in acute conditions, in chronic conditions – smaller doses.
- Delivery: large joints 1-2 ml, medium joints 0,5-1 ml, small joints 0,25-0,5 ml.
- Local, intradermally: 0,2 ml / cm2 of the body surface, maximum dose: 1 ml / week.
Contraindications to the use of the drug Diprophos
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation or other corticosteroids, generalized mycosis, tuberculosis, osteoporosis, mental lability, peptic ulcer disease, primary glaucoma, early anastomosis, diabetes, Cushing’s syndrome, kidney failure, bacterial, fungal or viral infections, pregnancy (especially in the first trimester) .
- Corticosteroids should not be used to treat vitreous syndrome after birth.
