The active substance of Diohespan max is diosmin, the main task of which is to increase venous tone. It also reduces the expansion as well as venous stasis in the venous vessels. In addition, in patients using Diohespan max, increased endurance of the capillary system has been noticed, which translates into reduced fragility of blood vessels.

Diohespan max is available on the pharmaceutical market in two forms:
- Diohespan oral powder maxcontaining, in addition to diosmin, sucrose, polyvinyl alcohol, polysorbate 80, glucose, citric acid, xanthan gum, colloidal anhydrous silica, orange flavor SD1918, cherry flavor SD0559 and sucralose;
- Diohespan tablets maxcontaining, in addition to diosmin, polyvinyl alcohol 3, croscarmellose sodium, talc, colloidal anhydrous silica and magnesium stearate.
Diohespan max – when should you take the drug?
Diohespan max is recommended for people who suffer from:
- Leg pain and cramps;
- Feelings of heaviness in the legs;
- Swelling of the legs;
- Varicose veins of the lower extremities;
- Vascular spider veins.
Diohespan max can also be used in the case of hemorrhoids.
Diohespan max – the use of oral powder and tablets
Diohespan max should be used according to the doctor’s or pharmacist’s instructions or the information included in the drug leaflet. The recommended dose for Diohespan max oral powder is one sachet per day. A maximum of three sachets a day for four days can be taken when the symptoms associated with haemorrhoids worsen. The powder should be put directly on the tongue and then swallowed. In case of difficulties, it can be mixed in a little water and then drunk.
Similar recommendations apply to the dosage of Diohespan max tablets. Ultimately, you can take one tablet a day, but in case of exacerbation of symptoms associated with haemorrhoids, you should take three tablets a day for a maximum of four days. DIohespan max tablets should be taken with a meal.

- Carbamazepine, used to treat epilepsy.

Diohespan max drug can be prescribed to a pregnant woman, but it should only be administered under the strict supervision of a specialist. In the case of breastfeeding women, taking the drug is contraindicated due to the lack of studies on the penetration of diosmin into milk.

There are no known cases of overdose of Diohespan max, but in the event of gastrointestinal disorders, stop taking the drug and contact a doctor who will change the treatment method. In order to minimize disturbing symptoms, the patient may be given activated charcoal.

The main contraindication to taking Diohespan max is hypersensitivity to diosmin or the excipient contained in the drug. It is worth remembering that each sachet of oral powder contains 0,57 mg of benzyl alcohol, which may cause an allergic reaction.
