Dining room project

When decorating your dining room, don’t be afraid to experiment. As the primary colors for this room, you can choose a combination of black and white. Such a rigid framework does not greatly limit the decorator’s imagination, since he has other tools at his disposal. For example, the shape of furniture and accessories, graphic design on wallpaper and fabrics.

The niche in the wall is also highlighted with the help of color. Despite the shallow depth (just over 15 cm), family photographs and low vases look great in it.

An old sewing machine acts as a dining table. Its openwork forged pattern is harmoniously combined with the floral pattern on the wallpaper. The cast iron underframe was left as is, only the countertop was replaced.

Pasta presto!

Graphic Design Marina Shvechkova

Red, green and white can be chosen as the main colors for decorating the dining room – all three coloristic components of the Italian flag. The combination is very active, white furniture, as well as red and green accessories and trim elements will help to balance it.

Like a small dining room in an Italian home, this functional area forms part of the kitchen. This makes it easier for the hostess to set the table and serve dishes directly from the oven to the guests. The dimensions of the dining table are not too large – 60 × 60 cm, but three can comfortably fit behind it, and if necessary, four. You just need to move the table away from the wall and add another chair – the one in the corner near the window.

Next to the ledge, there is another chair “hiding” so that the hostess can rest a little while cooking. The roof railing system allows you to save on the arrangement of storage places. You can hang not only special baskets to the guides, but also an ordinary chopping board, and even a new brush for washing dishes. Chair “Bertil” (IKEA), 1290 rubles.

  • Photo 4. Japanese square plates, although borrowed from a completely different – oriental style, turned out to be very useful in this Italian kitchen-dining room. They were used as small trays. So it is more convenient for the hostess to serve a la carte dishes to the guests, and she manages to clear the table much faster. Plate (France), 500 rubles, “Window to Paris”. Plate (France), 800 rubles, “Window to Paris”.
  • Photo 5. Despite the seeming fragility and weightlessness, wooden shelves are able to withstand a rather impressive weight. However, the biggest load that awaits them in the kitchen-dining area is breakfast dishes, jars of berry jam, containers of coffee, tea and spaghetti, as well as dishes or baskets with various fruits.

The theme of the dining room can also be oriental tea drinking. Moreover, for this it is not necessary to purchase original pieces of furniture and accessories.

The appropriate atmosphere will be created by the characteristic color combination, wallpaper pattern, furniture and decorative elements of a simple geometric shape. To complete the picture, even parquet can be laid so that a strict geometric pattern is obtained. And do not forget the main rule of the oriental interior – a minimum of furniture.
