Dimrot is a dephlegmator, the principle of operation of which is based on heat and mass transfer. Such a module is a kind of reverse refrigeration device, where alcohol vapors are able to condense and return to the cube in the form of a liquid (called reflux).
The mixture meets new pairs on its way, reacts with them. Removes heavy impurities (most often these are fusel oils), allows the alcohol base to move on. They are condensed in the descending refrigeration device, they fall into the receiving container in the form of a pure alcohol distiller.
The principle of operation of Dimroth
Another name for a dephlegmator is a dry steamer. It has a special working principle:
The alcohol contained in the mash can boil and evaporate under the influence of lower temperatures than fusel oil or other impurities. Often they get into the final product, they can significantly spoil it.
Fractions with a large mass remain in the sukhoparnik (in the phlegm, which is located in it). Dimrot eliminates the possibility of harmful elements getting into the finished product.
One part of the vapor condenses, while the other part moves on, but has a lower temperature. It contains a high concentration of alcohol. Next, the steam moves to the distillation column, where part of the contents falls into the distillation tank. This allows you to create the most strong drink.
Previously, such an additional refrigerator was an optional device in the device. Currently, many people who are engaged in the production of alcohol at home are improving equipment.
The appearance of the dephlegmator resembles a laboratory fixture. Dimrot can be presented in the form of a glass flask, inside of which there is a coil.
How to make Dimrot
In the manufacture of a reflux condenser, it is better to use a stainless steel tube. Its diameter should be about 6 mm, the recommended wall thickness is 1 mm. This tube is easy to bend, no need to fill it with sand or salt.
It is allowed to manufacture Dimroth from a copper pipe, but it is not recommended to use such metal. After installing copper Dimroth in the condenser, harmful substances may appear in the selection due to the oxidation of copper.
It is better to make reflux condensers using a special lathe, but you can manually wind the tube around a firmly fixed metal pipe.
It is recommended to use seamless stainless steel, which bends well.
The suture materials will be very springy, they will not fit in the flask in the future.
