DIFFERENT TYPES OF IRRITATION

Skin damage can be caused by dermatological procedures and external influences. Depending on the degree of damage, the patient may experience moral inconvenience, embarrassment and physical discomfort.

SKIN DAMAGES: WHEN THE PROTECTIVE FUNCTION OF THE SKIN IS WEAKEN

Delicate skin suffers due to the weakening of the protective function. 3 reasons can cause damage:

  • The skin suffers from external irritants such as cold and drying, or can be damaged by trauma such as burns, cuts and insect bites. This is a fairly common problem.
  • The skin is greatly weakened. This problem occurs in 20% of the population. Exposure can lead to cracked hands or lips, dry patches of skin, sticky or sore lips.
  • Finally, damage can be caused by dermatological procedures such as wart removal, cryotherapy, minor surgery, laser treatment, peeling, and other cosmetic procedures. These lesions are associated with approximately 15% of dermatological procedures.

DAMAGE DETERMINATION

Skin lesions include 2 different types of wounds:

  • Epidermal wounds: The dermis is not affected and the wound does not bleed.
  • Dermal wounds: The dermis is affected and the wound bleeds.

Wounds may be:

  • sharp, with a hole in the surface of the skin: due to cold, trauma, burns, surgery and even peeling.
  • chronic with repetitive injuries of the epidermis. These can be ulcers, bedsores and cracks.

Depending on the degree of damage, these wounds can take the form of a scab, erosion, cracks, ulcers, and even atrophy. If the protective function of the skin is impaired, then it becomes more sensitive to external influences. And this, in turn, can lead to itching, and the situation will worsen if you scratch the wound. Therefore, it is important to make sure that the epidermis heals as soon as possible.
