Most of the Russian fortified wines until 2014 were labeled as “Wine Drink”, but at the moment all fortified strong wines made in Russia from own grapes are qualified by law as “Special Liquor Wines”.
Very often, such ordinary wines give off alcohol, but this is not because “they are fortified with the wrong thing”, but because only about a year passes until it is ready and bottled, while fine wines are aged in bottles three years more.
