The packaged diets market is becoming more and more popular. DietaLight is a special system based on powders to be dissolved in cold or warm water, which, depending on the stage, is to replace “normal” meals.

DietaLight meals

It consists of:

  • Cocktails – you can add variety to them by adding a small amount of fruit or vegetables
  • Chicken-flavored soups – you can add herbs, garlic, chili or broccoli, cauliflower, carrots or season with mushrooms to change its taste
  • A bar – can be used as a snack, but ATTENTION only after the end of the treatment

The manufacturer recommends that women on this diet eat 5 and men 6 meals a day. In addition, the DietLight VLCD stage cannot be used for more than 3 weeks, because it is a very restrictive method of losing weight.

Nutritional values ​​of DietaLight

The cocktails in this program are mainly based on soy protein and fructose, which gives them a sweet taste. They are enriched with minerals and vitamins. The remaining elements are complementary substances in the form of: aromas, stabilizers or separate additives for all 3 cocktails, suggesting the taste, e.g. cocoa powder or strawberry flavor.

 

Stages of DietaLight application

Stage I: DietaLight VLCD

You only eat DietaLight meals.

Duration: max 3 weeks

Energy: 550 kcal

Energy:

1 serving of the cocktail is approximately 110 kcal x 5 (daily portions for women) = 550 kcal per day and, respectively, for men x 6 = 660 kcal per day.

Protein:

The amount of protein in this program has been proposed to be in line with nutritional standards and is approximately 59 g for women and 70 g for men, which corresponds to the norm of approximately 0,8-1 g / kg of ideal body weight.

Fat:

It is about 12 g for women and 15 g for men, which covers the requirement of about 1/3 of a rational standard slimming diet. The conclusion is that not only is it a very low-calorie diet, it also contains a very small amount of fat compared to other rational slimming diets.

Carbohydrates:

This is about 71 g for women and 85 g for men, where proper nutrition recommendations indicate that a slimming diet should have a minimum of 100-130 g of carbohydrates. This is all it takes for the body to function properly and the brain to work well. To imagine whether it is a lot or a little, for comparison, in irrational / improperly balanced diets, e.g. low-carbohydrate diets, e.g. Kwaśniewski’s diet, the portion of carbohydrates per day should not exceed 50 g.

The entire treatment lasts about 11 weeks + time after the treatment, if we want to add selected products from the diet to the “normal” diet after DietaLight.

The manufacturer recommends a slow exit from the slimming diet, adding 200 kcal to the diet in each subsequent week. However, they should come from fruit, vegetables, lean meat and fish.

Based on information from online stores of individual cocktails, the average prices are as follows:

11 weeks of the treatment for a woman consisting of 5 meals, that is: 1 soup + 3 cocktails with different flavors + 1 cocktail the cheapest cocktail, that’s about 1477 zł, i.e. the cost for 1 month is an average 536 zł.

Composition of DietaLight cocktails

DietaLight cocktails differ slightly in composition. This is mainly due to the fact that each of them has a different flavor. Due to the nature of these additives, it was also necessary to supplement the selected cocktails with ingredients such as: dyes, humectants, citric acid, etc. This is probably done in order to obtain the appropriate color of the cocktail and to provide other features, e.g. preservative cocktails.

As you can see from the table, DietaLight is invented by the manufacturer in such a way that practically everyone will find a variant for themselves, even people who do not need to lose weight. The only caveat to its use is underweight.

The diet includes information materials on how to use DietaLight. They show the advantages, but also the dangers of using it. The authors also thought about including the principles of proper nutrition. They emphasize:

  • that when choosing a diet should be guided by the state of nutrition and health
  • encouragement even to contact a dietitian or doctor
  • that the diet must be individually composed
  • the need to drink plenty of water
  • and the weight of exercise
  • that you always have to eat 5 meals

 

Opinion of a dietitian on DietaLight

Increasingly, such programs are recommended by doctors. Most often it is related to the need to lose weight quickly due to waiting for some operations. The consequences of the yo-yo effect are then relegated to the background, because the priority is to fight for the health or life of the patient. Then it does not matter if you change your eating habits, but time. However, if there is no justification for following these types of diets, it is better to try to change habits for life. It’s hard to change habits with such powders. So if you have to lose 5,10,15, 30, XNUMX or even XNUMX kg, it is worth trying to lose weight yourself – using natural methods. Changing eating habits to normalize should be a priority  body weight, and not saving yourself with this type of preparations.

The cost of losing weight after changing habits is much lower than “sticking” with such programs for a long time. Of course, the choice is yours.
