The average daily calorie content is 1045 Kcal.
Any diet, including a medical one, carried out in all sanatoriums, provides for restrictions on two parameters simultaneously: on the amount of products and on their type (carbohydrates, fats, or both).
It is quite difficult to withstand both restrictions for a long time – why, in fact, there are such a huge variety of diets – some people are easier to transfer the restriction to one type of food, others to some other. The diet of the Protasov diet is designed so that there is no limit on the amount of food eaten – you can eat as much as you want and when you want. The only thing that needs to be observed is the food restriction. You can eat fermented milk products up to 4% fat (without fillers, without sugar and starch) – for example, fermented baked milk, kefir, low-fat cottage cheese and cheese, yoghurts and raw vegetables (not fruits) – for example, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, cabbage, beets, radishes, pepper, eggplant, etc. In addition, one chicken or two quail eggs and two or three apples (always green) are included in the daily diet. Also, without restrictions, and even strongly recommended to drink at least two liters of green tea or non-mineralized and non-carbonated water (do not sweeten) per day.
The Protasov diet menu for the first two weeks consists of fermented milk products, eggs and vegetables (as described above). The Protasov diet menu for the last three weeks additionally includes up to 200 grams of boiled beef, chicken, fish or any low-fat meat (no sausages) for every day. Moreover, if possible, it is highly desirable to somewhat limit the use of fermented milk products. Everything else is unchanged. The total duration of the diet is thus 5 weeks.
One of the main advantages of the Protasov diet is the normalization of the diet. Another plus of the Protasov diet is expressed in the fact that the absent restriction on the amount of products makes it one of the easily tolerated ones. The third advantage of the Protasov diet is that there are fats, proteins, carbohydrates, and vegetable fiber in food, which indicates the undoubted advantages of the Protasov diet over other diets (for example, over the strawberry diet).
First of all, it is, of course, the duration of the diet (35 days). This diet is not balanced in essential vitamins and minerals. You may need an additional intake of vitamin complexes (you need to consult your doctor).
