Poles’ fears of contracting COVID-19 are systematically decreasing, according to the latest data from the research agency Inquiry. We also present data on health problems that Poles now experience more often than before the pandemic.
- A week ago, 40 percent Poles declared fear of contracting the coronavirus, currently the result is 1 percentage point lower and amounts to 39%.
- On the other hand, the percentage of people who directly indicate that they are not afraid of being infected is currently 42 percent. – in the previous week, the result was 3 percentage points lower
- 48 percent among the unvaccinated Poles declares that they do not intend to use the vaccine – this result is 1 percentage point higher than the week before

Vaccinations against COVID-19. How many Poles want to get vaccinated?
Currently, almost half (48%) of people who are not yet vaccinated declare that they do not want to use the COVID-19 vaccine (summed up answers “definitely not” and “probably not” in the question about such an intention), which means an increase by 1 percentage point compared to the previous measurement.
Vaccine rejection has been steadily increasing for the past two months. In mid-December, 7 percentage points less unvaccinated Poles declared that they did not intend to use the vaccine against coronavirus. The current rate of vaccine rejection is at the level of September, when vaccine rejection was at its highest. – up to 52 percent negative responses to the question about the intention to vaccinate.
At the same time, fears of contracting COVID-19 are gradually diminishing. Currently, there are more Poles who are no longer afraid of coronavirus infection (42%) than those who still feel such concerns (39%).

What health problems affect Poles more often than before the pandemic?
When asked about what health problems they experienced more often than before the pandemic, the first feeling tired (45% of people now experience more often), anxiety (40 percent), stress (39 percent), lack of energy to act (38 percent), annoyance (37%) and depression (37 percent). In the case of all problems, women have a higher percentage of indications compared to men. Currently, women most often have problems with sleep (49% more often than before the pandemic), experience a lack of energy to act (47%) and irritability (46%). The latter two problems are also most often indicated by the youngest aged 18-24.
The survey has been carried out from December 21, 2020 on a representative sample of adult Poles using the CAWI method in weekly waves of approx. 700 people (online survey on the YouGov panel).
