Why do we need probiotic supplementation?

Our intestines contain natural bacterial flora which is of great importance for our health and the proper course of many processes in our body. The main tasks of the digestive tract bacteria include: ensuring immunity, carrying out fiber fermentation processes, production of vitamins B and K2 and short-chain fatty acids. In addition, they also affect the production of neurotransmitters and hormones.

Many external factors can disrupt the composition and amount of the intestinal microflora. The basic situation in which it is necessary to supplement the bacterial flora is the period during and after antibiotic therapy. Antibiotics kill not only pathogenic bacteria, but also our beneficial bacteria in the digestive system. The disturbance of the intestinal microflora is also influenced by: improper diet (rich in animal fats, simple sugars, highly processed products, low in fiber), some medications other than antibiotics (e.g. drugs that inhibit the secretion of gastric acid), stress and stimulants.

Women and children are more likely to suffer from imbalance of probiotic bacteria.

According to the latest research, the destruction of the intestinal microflora contributes to the development of many dangerous and troublesome diseases. The list includes ailments such as: gastrointestinal complaints (diarrhea, digestive problems, flatulence), decreased immunity, susceptibility to infections, allergies, autoimmune diseases, fatigue, deterioration of mood, and even depression.

Bacteria Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG is a gram-positive bacterium. It has a beneficial effect on our health in the case of many ailments. Supplementation with this bacterium can prevent diarrhea, help fight obesity, reduce the risk of respiratory tract infections in children, support the treatment and prevention of atopic dermatitis, reduce intestinal permeability and have a positive effect on our mood.
