Dicloziaja for inflammation and contusion. How to use?

Dicloziaja is a drug used in orthopedics and family medicine to treat arthritis, limited inflammation of soft tissues, tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints as a result of sprains and contusions. Dicloziaja is available as a gel and can be dispensed without a prescription.

Indications for use of the drug Dicloziaja

The active substance of Dicloziaja is diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. The gel is recommended for the local treatment of limited and mild forms of arthritis, limited inflammation of soft tissues (eg tendinitis, “tennis elbow”), back pain and post-traumatic inflammation of tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints as a result of sprains, contusions.

Dosage: 2-4 g of gel (3-5 cm strip of gel squeezed out of the tube) 3-4 times a day, lightly massage.

Dicloziaja and contraindications and warnings

Contraindications to the use of Dicloziaja are:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation;
  2. do not use in patients in whom acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs trigger an attack of asthma, urticaria or acute rhinitis;
  3. not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age or in women in the third trimester of pregnancy.

Dicloziaja – warnings:

  1. Dicloziaja preparation is intended for external use only; do not use on damaged skin and mucous membranes; avoid contact of the preparation with the eyes and mouth; wash hands thoroughly after use.
  2. Do not use for more than 14 days without consulting a doctor; a medical check-up is recommended after 7 days of using the preparation or if the symptoms worsen.
  3. Caution should be exercised in patients with active or pre-existing gastric or duodenal ulcers, severe hepatic or renal insufficiency.
  4. In the case of long-term use or on a large surface of the skin, side effects related to the general action of the drug may occur.
  5. The use of Dicloziaja is not recommended in women in the first and second trimester of pregnancy; in the third trimester of pregnancy, the use of the preparation is contraindicated. Women in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy may use the preparation only after consulting a doctor and only if absolutely necessary.
  6. Before using Dicloziaja during breastfeeding, consult a doctor; during this period, the preparation should not be used on large areas of the skin or for more than 1 week.
  7. There are no data on the effect of the preparation on the ability to drive motor vehicles.

Dicloziaja – interactions: They are not known (for the topical preparation).

Dicloziaja – side effects:

Redness, itching, rash, swelling, peeling, lumps or blisters, contact dermatitis may occur. After prolonged use or over large areas, general side effects may occur: activation of peptic ulcer disease, dizziness and headache, weakness, fatigue, sleep disturbances, asthma attack, dyspnoea, angioedema, hypersensitivity to solar radiation.
