What is Diclac Duo used for? What is its composition and can it be adopted by everyone? Generally, Diclac Duo is an anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug, therefore it is most often used in inflammation of joints and muscles. Diclac Duo is very often assigned to diseases of the spine.

Diclac Duo is a prescription medicine. The active ingredient is Diclofenacum natricum, or diclofenac. The drug is generally anti-inflammatory, but it is also recommended for pain. It is worth knowing that Diclac Duo does not belong to the group of steroid drugs.

Diclac Duo – how it works

The active substance of the drug has a wide anti-inflammatory effect, but also has an antipyretic and analgesic effect. Diclofenac reduces the symptoms of inflammation, such as joint stiffness, pain, swelling, fever. Diclac Duo can be used in rheumatic conditions, but it will also work well in diseases and non-rheumatic ailments. However, it is not antimicrobial. After ingestion, the drug is completely absorbed, but the strength of the concentration of the active substance in the body varies depending on whether the agent is in the form of oral or gastro-resistant tablets. In the case of oral tablets, the concentration of the active substance and its release are lower and slower than in the case of gastro-resistant tablets, therefore, in the case of greater pain, which makes it impossible to function completely, the enteral route should be chosen.

Diclac Duo – contraindications

Diclac Duo is widely used, but not everyone can use it. So, what are the contraindications to taking the drug?

  1. first of all, Diclac Duo cannot be used by people who are or may be allergic to any of the ingredients of the drug
  2. the preparation should not be taken by pregnant women because there is a high risk of penetration through the placenta
  3. Diclac Duo cannot be taken by patients with gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer
  4. there are contraindications for the use of the drug by people diagnosed with renal, heart or liver failure
  5. Diclac Duo contains acetylsalicylic acid, which may cause an allergic reaction

In some situations, when it is necessary to take the drug, but there are physical contraindications to this, the doctor should order regular check-ups and the doses of the drug should be reduced. In extreme cases, Diclac Duo should be administered for a shorter time than recommended on the package insert.

Diclac Duo, like any other drug, may cause side effects, especially in people who have been diagnosed with other diseases, for example of the digestive system. As soon as disturbing symptoms appear, such as bleeding, severe skin reactions, for example a rash or inflammatory changes of the mucous membranes, you should immediately stop the medicine and consult a doctor. Diclac Duo may cause fertility problems in women, therefore it should not be used by women planning pregnancy. According to manufacturers and doctors, Diclac Duo should not be used together with other anti-inflammatory drugs, as it may increase the risk of side effects.
