Diagnoses that cannot be vaccinated against coronavirus

Not everyone can protect themselves with the COVID-19 vaccine. The doctor listed diseases that can become contraindications.

Immunologist Vladislav Zhemchugov told patients with what diseases vaccination against COVID-19 is not recommended.

In an interview with the correspondent of Vechernyaya Moskvy, Zhemchugov drew particular attention to cancer:

“The simplest example is oncology, because if there is treatment, then it is accompanied by immunosuppression. It turns out that on the one hand there is an indication, and on the other, on the contrary, there is a contraindication. Therefore, all issues related to vaccination should be decided by the patient’s attending physician, ”said Zhemchugov.

Vaccination is categorically contraindicated in patients diagnosed with inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, lupus erythematosus and systemic blood diseases.

Note that recently the head of the department of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamaleya, Professor Alexander Butenko, said that the Russian vaccine against coronavirus will be released in two versions – the usual and the “sparing”.

A “lightweight” vaccine will be used to vaccinate children.

“For children, it is more gentle and less reactogenic. Children have less body weight than adults, so their dosage will be reduced. In addition, a child’s immune system may not be as developed as that of an adult, ”the expert said.
