We invite you to the online debate, organized by the Polish Diabetes Society on the occasion of the annual World Diabetes Day celebration, under the media patronage of Medonet. While everyone’s attention is focused on the coronavirus pandemic, it is easy to forget that another serious epidemic has been unfolding in its background, invariably for several decades. It is diabetes, named by the World Health Organization the first non-infectious epidemic.
W Polsce osób chorujących na cukrzycę są ponad 3 miliony i ta liczba nieprzerwanie rośnie. Blisko połowa pacjentów nie jest swojej choroby świadoma, bo tym co najgroźniejsze w cukrzycy, to brak objawów w jej początkowej fazie. Kluczową więc rolę w zapobieganiu i kontrolowaniu cukrzycy odgrywa profilaktyka i edukacja. Na tym polu szczególną rolę odgrywają pielęgniarki diabetologiczne. Dlatego hasło towarzyszące obchodom tegorocznego Światowego Dnia Cukrzycy brzmi: Pielęgniarka liderem edukacji terapeutycznej w cukrzycy
The debate will be attended by leading Polish experts in the field of diabetes, representatives of nurses’ organizations, diabetes educators and patient organizations. The online debate will be accompanied by a chat, so you will have the opportunity to ask questions to experts.
