Games with preschool children for the development of motor skills
There are many activities for the development of motor skills, this includes finger games, exercises with small objects, palm massage, modeling and drawing.
It is better to start classes from infancy. Massage your baby’s hands and fingers lightly. Air massage is useful; for this, a rubber bulb is used, releasing a stream of air on the palms.
When the baby learns to grab objects and squeeze them, offer activities with toys of different textures. This will help develop tactile sensations. Any safe toys are used for exercise. Games with pencils and balls of different sizes are useful for children from 1 year old. Invite your baby to roll them on the table in different directions.
For children of the middle preschool group, the following games are suitable:
- “I bake pies.” Invite your child to mold a pie from salted dough, put a chestnut or nut filling inside.
- “Track”. Have your toddler make grooves in the dough in the form of a lane.
- “Snowballs”. The child must make a snowball out of paper.
- “Surprise”. The task of the preschooler is to wrap an egg from a kinder or a nut in foil.
- “What’s in the bag.” The bag is filled with toys of different shapes, the child identifies the object by touch.
Classes will become interesting and exciting if you use colored dough and your favorite toys.
Older preschoolers will love the shoelace exercises. There are many options, for example, to unwind a ball, string on beads, lace up missing parts to a toy.
From finger games to older children, puppet theater, mosaic, shadow theater, drawing, modeling, shading and any graphic exercises are suitable. The time of one lesson is from 5 to 15 minutes.
There are many useful exercises for developing motor skills, start playing from birth. Gradually complicate the task, taking into account the age and level of development. To achieve good results, do your classes regularly.
