What is detox?
Detox is, in common understanding, cleansing the body of everything that is not necessary for him to function properly, i.e. with toxins. They enter our body both with food and with inhaled air, showing harmful effects on health. What more, sometimes our body produces them as a result of metabolism or a process breathing. The worst part, however, is that many of the toxins bioaccumulate, which means that we store them in the tissues of our body. In addition, some of the them act synergistically, i.e. their combination is more harmful than the action of each of the toxins separately.
By detoxifying the body, we increase our immunity and prevent it various diseases. Of course, for such detoxification to begin, we do not have to be especially involved in it, because it takes place every day, even without ours special help. Responsible for them are, among others our kidneys and liver. Sometimes however, it is worth supporting the body in this fight and including the appropriate ones in the diet, detoxifying products. Especially since one of the reasons for getting to the body’s toxin is eating the wrong food. By changing your diet we already eliminate one of the factors that affect the poisoning of the body.
Detoxifying products
The list of detoxifying products is really long. They belong to but mainly vegetables, fruits and herbs. Here are a few of the representatives detoxifying products:
- Lemon
It contains a lot of vitamin C and flavonoids. Additionally, it has alkalizing effect and stimulates the peristaltic movements of the intestines. It works cleansing the liver and supports its work.
- Ginger
Ginger not only has cleansing properties, but also anti-inflammatory. In addition, it soothes menstrual cramps and facilitates digestion.
- Beetroot
They are one of the most popular deacidification products. They contain a lot of fiber, potassium and antioxidants. Have anti-inflammatory, de-acidifying and anti-cancer properties.
- Parsley
It is a source of vitamin C, K and folic acid. Works antiseptic, prevents urinary tract infections and improves digestion.
- Celery
It contains a lot of fiber and stimulates metabolism. It also has de-acidifying and cleansing properties. In the additive is a powerful antioxidant.
- Linseed
A rich source of fiber and acids omega-3s and lignans. It has a protective effect on the intestinal mucosa and regulates the level cholesterol in the blood, and additionally supports weight loss.
These are, of course, just a few of the products that have a detoxifying effect. Could be mentioned here as well arugula, pomegranate, algae, garlic, apples, cabbage, blueberries, grapefruits, cranberries, green tea, horsetail, dandelion and much, much more. It’s worth it choose the ones you like and include them in your diet.
Cleansing drinks
From the presented list of products you can also conjure up fantastic cleansing drinks that will be stimulate the natural metabolism and help remove toxins from the body. Here a few suggestions:
Green cocktail
- 2 celery stalks
- ½ cup of spinach
- ½ a bunch of parsley
- 2 beets
- 2 carrots
- 2 garlic cloves
Peel the beets and carrots, and then all ingredients should be mixed with half a glass of water (or more if you don’t like a thick smoothie). A drink prepared in this way already fit for consumption.
Ginger tea
- A piece of fresh ginger
- 2 lemon slices
Ginger should be cut into slices and poured with hot water. Leave covered for approx. 5 minutes. When the drink has cooled down a little, add it lemon slices.
Water with lemon
- 1/4 of a lemon
- 1 slice of lemon
- 4 mint leaves
Squeeze the juice out of a quarter of the lemon and mix it with water. Put a lemon slice and 4 mint leaves into a glass. Leave for 30 minutes in a refrigerator.
Celery Cocktail
- 2 apples
- 1 celery
- 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
Peel the apples and celery and cut into smaller pieces. Then mix with a little water and 2 teaspoons of lemon juice.
Beet juice
- 1 left
- 1 carrot
- 1 apple
Peel all ingredients and cut into smaller pieces, a then mix with a little water. You can also use a juicer.
Vegetable juice
- 2 carrots
- 1 taste plaster
- 2 handfuls of spinach
- 10 leaves of lettuce
- 2 teaspoons of parsley
Peel the carrots and celery, then add all the vegetables for the juicer. Add 2 teaspoons of parsley to the juice and mix.
