Our grandmothers only had soap, their mothers also had powder, and now it’s all over the past century.
“Are you still boiling?” Once upon a time, this advertising slogan was considered synonymous with everything outdated and archaic. Now it’s time to wonder if the hostess is still washing with powder. After all, there are so many alternatives that you are amazed. A good housewife expects not only effective results from the care products, but also something special.
Gels
The gels have a mild detergent effect, which makes them suitable for daily washing. For example, Henkel’s new line of gels and powders LOSK Aromatherapy features an exclusive Active-Zyme 6 formula that fights stains without harm to clothes, caring for fabrics, and a combination of essential oils and subtle fragrances gives clothes long-lasting freshness after washing. The line is represented by two bright fragrances – Malaysian orchid and sandalwood with fruity and floral notes.
Gel capsules
The most convenient thing is no dosage, no spilled powder or spilled gel. Threw in the capsule – and it will be enough for a full drum of laundry. Will overcome any stains. The tool is of two types: for white and colored things. The shell dissolves easily even in cold water. Minus – slightly more expensive than powders.
Balloons
The imagination of producers knows no boundaries. Another lot on the way of the struggle for the cleanliness of clothes is balls for washing. The curiosity is also environmentally friendly. The balls are different in shape and principle of action. For example, tourmaline balls are a plastic case with holes. Manufacturers promise that they contain at least 80 types of minerals. They release negative ions into the water and activate infrared radiation. As a result, the connection of dirt with tissue fibers is weakened.
Rubber balls-“hedgehogs” look somewhat funny, they are covered with pimples. But there is nothing better for washing down jackets! In the process, they rotate and hit the surface of the garment, preventing the fluff from knocking down. However, it is not recommended to use them without powder; an integrated approach is needed.
Polypropylene balls are used to assemble the spools. From above, they are covered with loops, which, when rotating, eliminate all debris from the fabric. They are also recommended for use with powder.
Last but not least are the magnetic balls. These are rubber balls with large holes, inside which hides a surprise – a magnet. He fights the dirt while the balls bounce in the spinning drum. For a perfect result, add a whisper of powder.
Pills
Another magic wand for housewives is washing tablets. They are excellent at removing dirt while sparing the fabric. Most contain a substance that protects your assistant’s drum from limescale. The only negative is the controversial dosage. Half a tank requires half a tablet. At the same time, it crumbles, turning everything into the same powder.
Laundry sheets
With sheets for washing, it is impossible to miss the dosage. And they also take up a minimum of space! One package can replace 5 kilograms of washing powder. One strip is enough for one wash. Most manufacturers position them as a natural and hypoallergenic product without parabens, phosphates, dioxanes and synthetic fragrances.
For supporters of the classics
If you prefer the good old powder, there are a few things to keep in mind. The versatile powder can wash anything at almost any temperature. Special powders are intended for silk, wool, delicate lace underwear and are used at low temperatures. There are also special powders for colored, dark and white fabrics. Another hit is organic powders. More and more housewives resort to them, taking care of their health and households.
And about the dosage. When starting a wash, do not overly trust the proportions of powder indicated on the pack. It is not in the best interest of the manufacturers to save you money. According to most of them, a 450 gram pack should be used in two steps. In fact, the norm is a tablespoon of powder per kilogram of dry laundry. When the machine is loaded with a large load, 4 – 6 spoons are enough. Plus, each washing machine has a mark on which you need to fill in the product.
Laundry soap
Laundry bar or liquid soap is ideal for machine washing. It copes well with all dirt, does not foam too much and is completely natural. To remove unpleasant odors, add a couple of drops of any essential oil to the soap. The proportions are easy to guess – just fill the powder compartment with the agent.
Soap nuts
Soap nuts perfectly wash all types of fabrics: cotton, linen, wool, silk, synthetics, colored and mixed fabrics. They do not contain synthetic detergents, and after washing clothes smell neutral and do not electrify. The only “but” – soap nuts remove dirt, but do not bleach at all. One or two soap nuts – one wash.
Mustard powder
Mustard is an ideal detergent. Cope with a dirty head, mountains of unwashed dishes, and, of course, with washing. His swan song is the washing of woolen and silk products. Just load 40-60 grams of mustard powder into the machine drum.
Salt
Common table salt is second to none when it comes to washing chintz, linen or colored fabrics. Pour 100 grams of salt into the powder compartment and off you go.
