How to deal with an allergy that has taken over your body for good? First of all, you should seek the advice of a specialist and start working with him properly. There are several methods of fighting allergies currently known on the market. One of them is the desensitization method. What is it and for whom is it intended?

Desensitization or desensitizing is nothing more than the administration of special allergens, usually in the form of injection, which are designed to get the body used to a given allergen in such a way that it does not treat it as enemy. Initially, small injection doses are increased over time so that even the greatest accumulation of a given allergen does not interfere with the work  the immune system human.

Is desensitization safe?

The mechanism of desensitization is not fully defined. However, based on many years of observation and research, it can be seen that already in the initial phase of allergen administration, the body begins to react “calmly” to a natural threat. At this point, its immunity increases and the production of antibodies decreases. Therefore, the positive effect of this method of treatment is undoubtedly. When it comes to patient safety, yes it is certainthat in the case of a thorough interview and appropriate therapy in proven offices there is no imminent threat to the patient’s life.

Does desensitization work?

It depends. Opinions are divided just as the results of treatment are divided. It is worth noting that each attempt to desensitize a patient is associated with a kind of experiment, because it is not entirely known how the body will react … and whether it will react at all. Cases are recorded total desensitization. But alongside these results, there are a number of patients who have not noticed an improvement in their health.

How much desensitization?

If any of you got a guarantee of total desensitization, you are wrong. A good and proven method of desensitization gives results for about 5-10 years from the last treatment (in the case of inhalation allergies), and about 15 years in the case of food allergies. This is not an ironclad rule. But it is worth bearing in mind that after a dozen or so years our allergy may re-emerge. What is certain, however, is that this process will occur with less intensity than the original wave.

One instead of the other

The constantly refined method of desensitization, however, plays tricks. Because when it turns out that we have been desensitized to one allergen…. There is a problem with another one that was previously in sleep phase. Of course, this is not a rule, but it is worth having such knowledge before finally starting treatment.

Better late than never. Anyone who has any problem of an allergic nature should try to desensitize their body. The comfort that can be experienced after dealing with or healing the effects of allergies is unimaginable. So there is no need to wonder and how the fastest try to make an appointment with a doctor!
