Coronavirus: Have Restrictions Worked?

The deputy health minister was asked on Thursday in Polish Radio 24 whether the current restrictions from the health point of view proved effective and should continue after February 1.

– We feel and see these effects in comparison to the countries of our neighbors, to European countries. The average weekly infection rate in Poland from the last week was more or less at the level of 5,5 thousand, compared to e.g. France, where it is 20 thousand. and Spain, where there are 40 thousand. new infections Kraska replied.

– The restrictions that we introduced, I think, worked in Poland. We have achieved some stabilization. I would like this stabilization to be at a much lower level, but as we remember the end of October, the beginning of November, when we had almost 27 new cases. these are incomparable numbers. Therefore, decisions on possible changes to the restrictions are – I think – very difficult, very serious and very well thought-out decisions. For several days, expert staffs have been working very hard on this, because we can see that the virus knows no boundaries – said the deputy minister.
