For 3 years, the Danish beer brand Carlsberg has been working to create environmentally friendly containers. The company has set a goal of achieving a 30% reduction in its carbon footprint by 2030.
And so the first ecological packaging was presented to the world. These are two prototypes of the world’s first paper beer bottles made from wood fiber. The white opaque bottles are similar in shape to standard glass bottles for Carlsberg, they also have the brand’s slogan and the signature of the company founder Jacob Christian Jacobsen.
The company says they are made entirely from natural materials and are recyclable. The paper they are made of comes from wood.

Bottles are multi-layered – the outer layer is made of wood fiber, and the inner layer is made of a thin polymer biofilm, which allows the container to retain liquid. One bottle uses PET polymer biofilm and the other uses PEF. The bottles are said to be completely recyclable and both layers are easily peeled off from each other.
By the way, also PepsiCo and Coca- have already reported plans to ditch plastic bottles and switch to selling their drinks in aluminum containers to reduce plastic waste.
And earlier, we recall, we told from what year Europe plans to abandon disposable plastic dishes, as well as what innovations they have taken in Rome to combat plastic.
