The hip joint is the joint in which – apart from the spine – degenerative-deforming changes occur most often.

The consequence of these changes is not only impairment of its functions, but also to a large extent limitation of the body’s efficiency. The disease begins slowly and imperceptibly.

symptoms

The first symptoms are limited mobility of the joint, the patient has difficulty getting on the bus or tram, difficulties in putting on tights or socks. There is limb weakness, fatigue and periodic pain. In the morning, after getting out of bed or after a long rest, the first movements in the joint are difficult and painful. After a dozen or so movements, they disappear. They worsen again after exercise. Pain is increasing, quite often starting in the knee.

Over time, there are constant pains and night pains.

Treatment

In conservative treatment, which is carried out in the initial stage of changes, the main attention is paid to the maintenance of movements in the joint and the analgesic effect.

If significant pain and mobility limitations persist, surgical treatment is considered, including replacement of the hip joint with an artificial one. Treatment of degenerative changes should be carried out by an orthopedist.
