Defecation is nothing more than the process of defecation. The older a person gets, the more complicated the defecation process is. One thing is for sure, we should defecate every day. If we have a problem with this, it is worth getting acquainted with the treatments that will enable regular, daily defecation.
Defecation – what does this term mean?
Defecation is the act of removing feces from the body. It might seem an uncomplicated process, but the reality is a bit different. This physiological process takes place differently in infants and in the elderly. The feces have to go a long way to get out. The residual stool is collected in the rectal bulb. The rectal bulb widens, leading to a feeling of pressure on the stools. We may feel more or less severe pressure on our stools. If we decide to act to defecate, the internal anal sphincter relaxes, then the same happens with the external anal sphincter, and finally with the anal canal. If all goes well, the feces come out.

You should not overdo it while passing faeces. It must be spontaneous and take place at the moment when our body requires it. Stool retention also does not have a positive effect on the functioning of our body.
Defecation and constipation
It is very important to get into the habit of defecating regularly. Then our head tells us that the time is coming when we should defecate. This makes daily defecation much easier.
Defecation can be hampered by constipation. Constipation can be caused by many factors. They often appear due to an inadequate diet and lack of physical activity. They are more common in the elderly. Defecation problems can also cause stress and great tension. Eating in a hurry, eating irregularly, drinking water infrequently also contribute to the fact that we stand out irregularly and rarely.

How to support regular defecation?
For our defecation to take place regularly and every day, a proper diet is essential. This is the main element we should start with. The diet should be rich in products containing a large amount of fiber and water. Let’s choose green vegetables, grain products and drinking plenty of fluids. You should eat four to five meals a day, in small portions. Drinking a glass of water with honey on an empty stomach can stimulate our digestive system to function.
Physical activity also affects regular defecation. The more we move, the more our guts make, which is conducive to defecation. Treatment of constipation is also facilitated by preparations and supplements based on fiber and lactulose. They should be chosen if our defecation problems are really on an advanced level. First, let’s focus on natural methods.
Too frequent defecation
There is also the problem of too frequent defecation, which can also be caused by many factors.
- Celiac disease – is an intolerance to certain nutrients. As a result, too frequent defecation may appear, because the body does not tolerate the food it is given.
- Too much coffee – coffee significantly speeds up the digestive system. Probably every person has encountered the feeling that they had to go to the toilet right away after drinking their morning coffee.
- Physical activity – physical activity is very conducive to the defecation process. By doing very hard training, you may suffer from an excessive urge to defecate.
- Excessive stress – stress and nervous situations make some people want to use the toilet frequently. Diarrhea can occur during stressful situations.
In addition to the above-mentioned factors, too frequent bowel movements are also affected by Crohn’s disease and irritable bowel syndrome.
