Decorating flower pots with mosaics

A flower pot fancifully decorated with mosaics will be appropriate not only in the house, but also in the summer cottage, and its design will not take much time.

Any old plates and remnants of ceramic tiles unused during the repair are suitable for work. And you will definitely need a glass cutter. This tool will simplify the preparatory stage of the work – making “tesser”.

You will need:

  • pots;
  • shards of ceramics;
  • glass decor;
  • construction adhesive;
  • glass cutter;
  • nippers;
  • plastic container;
  • water;
  • fugue;
  • blue and brown acrylic paint;

  • Painting tape;
  • sponge;
  • brushes.
  • Getting Started.

Using a glass cutter and nippers, the ceramics are given the desired shape.

If these tools are not at hand, use a hammer.

On individual “tessera” with the help of paint on ceramics and a brush, a pattern is applied.

Stepping back slightly from the edge, the pots are pasted over with masking tape around the circumference.

The resulting rim is dyed blue.

Ceramic “tesserae” are glued to the pots according to the previously outlined pattern.

The mosaic is complemented by glass decor.

Then water is added to the dry grouting mixture until a creamy mass is obtained.

This mass is divided into three parts. Add blue paint to the first part, brown to the second, and leave the third part white.

Using a spatula, rub the mosaic.

Then the excess fugue is removed with a damp sponge. The product is allowed to dry. The planter is ready!
