When we are healthy, we do not realize how important the proper functioning of the digestive system is. Digestion and excretion are far from our concerns as long as they don’t cause us problems. When these are emerging, it’s time to take Debutir.

Debutir – what is it?

According to the package leaflet, Debutir belongs to a group of products known as food for special medical purposes. These are preparations intended for people who, due to certain diseases, cannot provide the body with a full, often increased nutritional requirement, based on a traditional diet. Debutir, however, cannot be treated as a complete diet replacement, but as a product supporting a specialized diet.

One package of Debutir consists of 60 capsules – a total of 36,12 g. The preparation is available in pharmacies without a prescription. The producer of Debutir is Polpharma SA based in Starogard Gdański.

Debutir – composition

The active substance is sodium butyrate and also fully hydrogenated Palm oil. Sodium butyrate is in the form of microgranules. This form allows the drug to be delivered to the small intestine and large intestine. The drug passes through the upper digestive tract unchanged, while sodium butyrate is slowly released along the entire length of the gut. Sodium butyrate is the component that characterizes the product. About 80 percent. of this substance is in the form of butyric acid.

The palm oil in the drug may cause anxiety, especially of parents. He is now infamous. It should be explained here that this fat turns into harmful trans fat only in the process of partial hardening. However, in the drug it is completely hardened, that is, hydrogenated. Consequently, it is devoid of unsaturated fats, but that doesn’t really matter as the drug is not a food product.

The other components of Debutir are:

  1. hydroxypropyl methylcellulose – capsule shell substance,
  2. sodium alginate – thickener,
  3. titanium dioxide – dye,
  4. monoglycerides and diglycerides of fatty acids – emulsifiers.

The energy value of 1 capsule is 1,71 kcal. In terms of nutrition, one Debutir tablet contains:

  1. 0,14 g fat (saturated fat)
  2. 0,05 g of carbohydrates (including 0 g of sugars),
  3. 0,07 g of salts.

Debutir – indications

What does Debutir help for? It is recommended for the dietary management of diseases related to the digestive system. The use of Debutir is primarily in the case of:

  1. diseases of the large intestine with the accompanying disappearance of mucous membranes,
  2. malabsorption, which leads to nutritional deficiencies and, in children, abnormal growth,
  3. irritable bowel syndrome,
  4. nutritional deficiencies – in the case of a lean diet or insufficient amount of fiber,
  5. disorders of the intestinal flora, e.g. after antibiotic therapy or in diseases of the kidneys, liver, pancreas,
  6. digestive disorders: Debutir is recommended for flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain.

Debutir – properties

The proper functioning of the intestines depends on many factors: intestinal peristalsis, a properly supplied mucosa of the digestive system, production of a certain amount of mucus, maintaining the continuity of the epithelium, rapid regeneration of the epithelium, the presence of natural bacterial flora, and an efficient local immune system. If any of these factors are compromised by a medical condition, treatment should be given to help the intestines return to normal. This is what Debutir is used for.

Debutir contains butyric acid, a type of short-chain fatty acid that is produced by bacterial fermentation of fiber. The process takes place under physiological conditions in the large intestine. However, when there is a lack of fiber, there is also a deficiency of butyric acid. This, in turn, is the most important energy material for the intestinal epithelium. By providing butyric acid, Debutir allows you to replenish its deficiency in the intestines. As a result, the correct continuity of the epithelium is maintained, which blocks the absorption of toxins and bacteria from the intestinal contents into the body.

Debutir owes its properties to the technology that allows to obtain sodium butyrate microgranules. It is this form that allows you to avoid the absorption of sodium butyrate in the upper part of the digestive system and reach the small intestine and colon fully, as well as eliminate the unpleasant smell of this substance.

Dosage of the drug Debutir

How to dose Debutir? The leaflet informs that adults should take one capsule twice a day (morning and evening) for a period of 2 months, unless a doctor tells you otherwise.

Children are advised to take one Debutir capsule daily for at least 6 weeks, unless otherwise instructed by a physician.
