Working with pain is the application of certain techniques to yourself or another person in working with pain or pain in the soul.

Areas of work with pain:

  • Overcoming pain (become stronger than pain)
  • Acceptance of pain (learning to live with pain)
  • Removal or reduction of pain.

Switching attention

The human brain cannot focus on two things at the same time: it either feels pain or is busy with something else. The task is to learn how to switch attention from pain to other tasks — humor, the right goal, and so on. If the pain is severe, it is better if someone from the outside will help — distract with a question or a joke. (can you go? what do you want now? and so on).
