The Internet user describes toys that her son used to play with while bathing and that probably every young child has. We are talking about rubber, colorful ducks, frogs, dragons and other toys that get water during bathing and which make it easier for children to splash in the bathtub. «It was fun, because the animals swallowed water and sprayed it when squeezed. Children practice little hands and accuracy […] — writes Sylwia Panek, author of the @ mama.chemik profile, where she gives advice on how to run a house in a safe and ecological way.
«Deadly mold» in a toy after just two months
Unfortunately, there’s no way to get a rubber bath toy that has a small hole to dry or clean after playing. Water containing bath impurities gets inside the toy, but never completely escapes.
«But the problem is that when we take these types of bath toys, there are various impurities in the water they swallow (body dirt, dead skin, hair). Some of them stay inside. Unfortunately, after the game is over, we are not able to thoroughly clean the inside of the toys, so some of the pollution remains inside, and the moisture there is conducive to the development of life […] » — explains @ mama.chemik.
Mold particles can float in the air, so you should order a purifier that will help restore the correct composition of the air you breathe.
To find out what the toy inside looks like, the woman performed an experiment and cut her son’s toy. She published a photo showing the inside of the toy after just two months of use.
Sylwia Panek also explained that the name “corpse mold” (it is about Aspergillus yellow)has to do with fungi growing on human remains. Dead skin and hair from the bath create similar conditions. The main reservoir of mushrooms Aspergillus flavus there is soil and decaying organic debris. They are dangerous for humans, they cause allergies and even damage to internal organs, first of all, they damage the respiratory system.
The expert recommends sticking the water hole with glue, but we can never be sure that the glue will not be toxic in contact with warm water. It remains to frequently replace toys or purchase toys without holes for water.
Mold that is harmful to health
Mold is a type of fungus that occurs naturally in many places, including our homes. Scientists have been studying the effects of mold on human health for many years. There are many types of mold. Some (eg “black mold” in a shower cubicle) are not as harmful as previously thought, but the one present on household appliances should definitely be removed.
Mold, which we find in rubber bath toys, may be species that are dangerous to humans, as mentioned above Aspergillus flavus
