Dead Stories: An Unexpected Guest

😉 Greetings to regular readers and visitors of the site! In the article “Stories about the Dead: An Unexpected Guest” – a real incident from life. Believe it or not. Hope you find it interesting.

Fyodor Petrovich got married in 1946, right after the war. The village beauty Galina became Fyodor’s wife. A year after the wedding, their son was born. The newlyweds lived with Fedor’s parents – then it was in the order of things. And all would be fine, but only the daughter-in-law of the mother-in-law did not like it – whatever she does, it’s not so.

Unfortunate house

Galya endured, endured and presented her husband with a fact:

– We are moving to a separate house, otherwise I will take my son and go to my mother forever.

Fedor agreed, they began to look for housing. While they were looking, a tragedy occurred in Galina’s family – her brother Grisha, who was the chairman of the collective farm, was killed.

Of course we grieved, but what to do. Buried. A few days after the funeral, the widow of the deceased, Alena, for no apparent reason, went with her children to live with her parents. The house, accordingly, was left empty.

Soon Fyodor and Galina asked the widow’s permission to live in an empty house. Alena willingly agreed: live, they say, as long as you want, you don’t even need any money. The couple quickly packed up their things and moved to live in the house of the deceased. The day after the move, Galya met her neighbor Evdokia on the street. She says to her:

– Well, Galya, how do you like being in a new place? Grishka doesn’t come to visit? Alyonka left because of this.

– Nobody comes to visit us, what kind of fairy tales – answered Galya.

Unexpected guest

Several days have passed since this conversation. In the evening Galina was waiting for her husband from work. It gets dark early in October, and the village has not yet been supplied with electricity. The young wife rocked her son in the cradle, and she thought: “Now Misha will fall asleep, I will light a kerosene stove, and I will put it on the table.”

The front door creaked. “Finally Fedya has come,” thought Galina. But when the door leading from the entrance to the house was opened, the whole body of the young woman was chained by a chilling horror. On the threshold stood … the late brother Grisha! In the very suit in which he was buried.

Galina stopped thinking from fright. She remembers how she grabbed the child and hugged her, closed her eyes … She came to her senses when her husband came. The shocked woman told her husband about this incident. The next day they moved in with Gali’s parents.

Alena decided to rent the unfortunate house, but none of the new guests stayed there for a long time. Neighbors said that the deceased had visited them too.

Gregory was a baptized man, but who will bury a party member, a collective farm chairman according to Christian customs? Times were different. He was not given a funeral service or prayed for. Maybe that’s why he was restless there or missed his wife so much?
