When is Entrepreneur’s Day celebrated in 2023

Entrepreneur’s Day in Our Country is celebrated 26 May. According to law, every person has the right to open their own business and run a business. The direction of activity can be different, the main thing is to clearly understand what you want to do for successful growth and development.

history of the holiday

Entrepreneurship of any scale is the main engine of the economy, providing us with a huge range of goods and services every day, receiving profit from sales in return.

Business life in Our Country developed in the form of trade, both internal and external. Merchants then were princes and combatants. The main trades were beekeeping and animal catching. Having collected tribute in fur and honey, they went to other countries to exchange goods for wine, silk, and weapons. Often trade was accompanied by robberies and attacks.

Only in the XNUMXth century did professional merchants begin to appear. In connection with the formation of significant surpluses of production, there was a need to sell it on a large scale. Craft settlements began to form, which were considered the main points of trade. The necessary attributes of a merchant were scales for weighing coins and a horse or boat for transporting goods.

In the XII century, merchant organizations began to be created. The very first was organized by Novgorod merchants. It was possible to become a full member of such a partnership if you contributed 10 kg of silver to its fund and a roll of expensive cloth to the founder as a gift. Each such community was created on the basis of a temple, which was laid by the head of this organization. The state approved this type of activity. Thanks to the merchants, international relations were maintained and the treasury was replenished.

After the Tatar-Mongol yoke, many cities were destroyed, the masters were killed or captured. The development of entrepreneurship during this period slowed down, many achievements were lost.

For several centuries there have been ups and downs in the development of entrepreneurial activity in Our Country.

Under Peter I, special attention was paid to the development of industrial entrepreneurship. The same trend was observed in post-Petrine Our Country.

After the abolition of serfdom in 1861, free enterprise began to grow. Among the successful, enterprising and wealthy peasants began to appear. By the beginning of the 5th century, XNUMX million people entered the market.

However, with the advent of the Soviet Union, commercial activity began to be severely destroyed. In all spheres of trade and industry, a state monopoly was established, thereby cutting open competition in the bud. Entrepreneurs had to survive. Many have gone into the shadows.

Only towards the end of the Soviet period was it decided to legalize this type of activity. In 1991, the Law “On Enterprises and Entrepreneurial Activity” was adopted. According to him, a person could do business both independently and with the help of hired workers. Then the concept of “individual entrepreneur” appeared.

An entrepreneur is a person who is ready to take risks, generate ideas, adapting to a changing world, stubborn and purposeful. Only the one who “burns” with his idea is not afraid to fail, falling, he will definitely rise and go further, achieve success.

For such people, in 2007, a presidential decree was signed, according to which an official holiday was established – Entrepreneur’s Day.

For the upcoming Day of Entrepreneurship, the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development has collected key measures to support the Moscow Government on the website. The campaign comes out under the slogan “On my own does not mean alone.”
