history of the holiday

Agriculture is the most important activity for the economy. It plays a huge role in the continuous flow and production of products and, consequently, in increasing the income of the country. Work on the ground directly depends on external environmental factors, since it requires the use of natural resources – soil, water. This sector accounts for the largest consumption of water.

Agriculture has existed since before our era. Archaeologists still find fragments of the simplest tools.

In Our Country, the main industry was agriculture. Depending on the climate of a certain area, a rich harvest was harvested in the south, and in the northern zone, the cultivation of fruit crops was difficult. Often the farmer had to struggle with impenetrable forests, with poor soil, in order to grow a crop. The cultivation of the land was carried out with the same tools that have survived to this day – a plow, a sickle, a scythe. Horses or oxen were used as traction.

Over time, agriculture has changed. Numerous land reforms tested the strength of the people, led to the disintegration and reduction of livestock.

Now, thanks to the adoption of a number of laws on agriculture, it has been possible to bring it to a new level, which will certainly affect the well-being of the people. Both large enterprises and small farms began to develop.

All the ups and downs associated with this industry during the existence of the USSR led to the decision to perpetuate the hardest work of people and establish two holidays – the All-Union Day of Agricultural Workers and the Day of Food Industry Workers, which were celebrated on different days. Later, the holidays were united, adding the Amelior’s Day to them as well. Several times there were changes in the name and date of the celebration. It was only in 1999 that the final version, which still exists, was fixed – the Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers.
