Datura poisoning – symptoms and treatment

Datura stramonium L. is an annual plant with an unpleasant odor. It grows in hovels, rubbish bins, gardens, yards. It blooms from June to August. It bears fruit from August until frost.

The entire plant is poisonous, especially the seeds. Usually, children are poisoned by chewing and swallowing seeds. Poisoning can occur by inhaling smoke from the leaves.

Symptoms of poisoning

As in the case of hives poisoning. Usually there are no seizures. The arousal phase, similar to wolfberry poisoning, precedes coma.

Treatment

As in the case of poisoning with a wolfberry and black henbane.
