Dark circles around the eyes may result from the accumulation of pigment near the lower eyelid or from visible blood vessels. If they appear once in a long time, it is worth using a concealer or cream that will eliminate them temporarily.

What do dark circles under the eyes indicate?

Dark circles under the eyes often raise the suspicion of diseases for which it is worth getting tested. If they are accompanied by additional ailments, such as swelling around the eyes, tachycardia, headaches and abdominal pain, lack of vitality or pollakiuria, you should consult a doctor for diabetes, parasites, thyroid, liver, spleen or kidney disorders. Sometimes the above symptoms indicate dehydration, malnutrition, allergies or anemia. Dark circles under the eyes can be caused by cigarettes, fatigue, lack of sleep, stress, hormonal contraception and genetic tendencies, as well as rubbing the skin and incorrectly selected cosmetics.

The color of the shadows is helpful in the diagnosis. Brown color is usually found in people with improper functioning of the nervous or digestive systems, and gray is associated with fatigue. When the shadows fall into bile, it is worth taking an interest in the condition of the liver and gallbladder. Rouge usually occurs with bladder diseases, while swelling with impaired kidney function.

Remedies for dark circles under the eyes

  1. The visibility of shadows can be minimized by appropriate changes in the lifestyle we lead. If the shadows are yellow or brown, we should avoid stressful situations. Regardless of the color of the shadows, limit sugar, coffee and salting, try to get enough sleep and oxygenate the body by choosing exercise in the fresh air, thanks to which the skin around the eyes will improve. In turn, with the shadows falling into blue and violet shades, let’s integrate foods rich in vitamins into the daily diet. The most important is the supplementation of vitamins A, C and K, so it is worth looking for them in the composition of care cosmetics. Let’s take care of proper hydration of the body.
  2. When deciding to buy an eye cosmetic, consider the sensitivity of your skin and your age. The pH of tears should coincide with the pH of the eye preparation, which is approximately from 7,1 to 7,4. It would be good if the cream contained horse chestnut, arnica or plantain, as well as coenzyme Q10 or moisturizing hyaluronic acid. Edema will fight firefly. Let’s use fresh cucumber and tea compresses.
  3. Apply camouflage makeup on clean, previously moisturized skin. Let’s gently spread the foundation a shade lighter than our complexion, and then apply the concealer:
  • with a hint of violet or pink – for brown discolorations,
