Daktarin is a drug used in mycosis of the scalp, trunk, limbs, tinea pedis, inguinal tinea pedis, in diaper dermatitis caused by dermatophytes, yeasts and other fungi. The preparation is in the form of an over-the-counter cream.

ACTION
Daktarin is an antifungal and antibacterial drug, an imidazole derivative.
Daktarin – indications and dosage
Daktarin is used in the case of mycosis:
- scalp,
- torso,
- limbs,
- interdigital,
- circumferential groin,
and in diaper dermatitis caused by dermatophytes, yeasts and other fungi.
Dosage
Apply the preparation topically 2 ×/d, usually for 2–6 weeks. The treatment should last at least 7 days after the lesions have resolved.
Daktarin and contraindications
Contraindications to the use of Daktarin are:
- allergy to any of its ingredients,
- Daktarin should not be used in the treatment of fungal infections of the scalp, mucous membranes, nails and wounded skin.
Daktarin – warnings
- Daktarin should be discontinued in the event of skin irritation or allergic reaction.
- Protect your eyes from contact with the drug.
- It is necessary to take care of the hygiene of places which are a source of infection.
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women may use Daktarin only after consulting a doctor.
Daktarin and other drugs
Caution is advised in patients taking oral anticoagulants (e.g. warfarin), phenytoin or oral medicines to lower blood glucose (sugar) levels. Daktarin may increase the side effects associated with the use of these drugs.
Daktarin – side effects
Daktarin is usually well tolerated, but allergic reactions may occur:
- rash,
- erythema,
- itching
- skin tingling sensation
- irritation,
- very rarely severe anaphylactic reactions.
