Daivobet is a prescription ointment or gel medicine. The ointment is used to treat psoriasis vulgaris in adult patients (not recommended for people under the age of 18), and Daivobet gel is prescribed for scalp psoriasis or mild to moderate plaque psoriasis.

Daivobet – contraindications
You should not use the drug if you are allergic to the active substances of the drug or other ingredients contained in it, described in the package leaflet. You should also consult your doctor before taking the drug, if your body shows abnormalities in calcium levels. As the drug Daivobet contains a potent steroid, the condition of the affected skin should not be used on skin with viral, fungal, bacterial or parasitic infections. A contraindication thin and delicate skin, prone to damage, veins or stretch marks, is also suitable for using the drug. It is not recommended for use on acne and ulcerated skin.
When using the drug, special care should be taken, especially in the case of patients under 18 years of age. (taking the drug not recommended) and in people diagnosed with diabetes. It is not recommended to use the ointment or gel on more than 30 percent of the body and avoid using more than 15 g of the drug per day. The treated area cannot be covered with a dressing. It should not be applied to steroid-sensitive areas, such as the face or genital area. It is also recommended to avoid intensive contact with light (sunbathing or using a solarium).
Daivobet and pregnancy and breastfeeding
Although there is insufficient information on the use of the drug Daivobet w pregnancy, and epidemiological studies found no abnormalities and congenital abnormalities in newborns born to women exposed to pregnancy substances contained in the drug, the risk is not excluded. Daivobet is prescribed to female patients in pregnancy only if, in the physician’s opinion, the benefit to the health of the mother outweighs the possible risk to the fetus. While it has been found that betamethasone is excreted into breast milk, the likelihood of an adverse effect on the development of the newborn is low, but not excluded, when the recommended dose is used in therapy. As with any drug, when using an ointment or gel Daivobet, we can observe side effects. Adverse reactions most often occur in the treated area. It is mainly an unpleasant burning sensation, itching or rash, skin irritation and pain, erythema, folliculitis or changes in the color of the skin in the affected area appear less frequently. Dangerous reactions may also occur, such as worsening psoriasis, cataracts or damage to the adrenal glands.
