The author, traveler and correspondent for National Geographic, spent several years on an expedition to the «blue zones» of our planet — places where people live up to 100 years old, maintaining mental clarity and health. What makes them successful? The results of the expedition and recommendations to us, the townspeople, are in the book.
Traveler and National Geographic correspondent Dan Buettner spent five years on the expedition. Together with doctors and biologists, he visited various parts of the world, where the so-called blue zones are located — places where people live up to 90-100 years old, maintaining health, vigor and clarity of mind. After studying the lifestyle and habits of centenarians, Buettner summed up. He gives advice that will help each of us create our own personal blue zone. It is not necessary to change your place of residence, but it is worth adjusting your eating habits, moving more, creating your own circle of friends and like-minded people, putting relationships with loved ones at the forefront, formulating the goal of life and finding a way to realize your spirituality (church or meditation — everyone chooses for himself). The advice is simple and often obvious. What does not negate their values - after all, they are time-tested and work regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, religious affiliation.
