Hat (diameter 5-17 cm): with a bizarre network of cracks, light ocher in young mushrooms and rich brown in mature ones. In the center, a blunt tubercle almost always stands out.

The shape of the hemisphere eventually changes to a flat or slightly convex. Feels velvety and dry.

Leg (height 5-15 cm): silky, slightly pubescent, cylindrical in shape. There is a ring.

Records: initially light, darken over time and become more brown.

Pulp: white or slightly brown. The cylindrical vole mushroom smells like stale wine or rancid flour.

Doubles: ringed cap (Rozites caperata), which grows only in spruce forests.

When growing: from early May to mid-November in the subtropical and southern parts of the northern temperate zone.

Where can I find: the cylindrical vole is found on dying and dead deciduous trees. Prefers poplars, willows, birches, fruit trees of various species.

Eating: in canned and dried form. The gourmets and chefs of Southern Europe, France and the Mediterranean consider the barrel vole a real delicacy, especially in such a dish as baked pork in mushroom sauce with a side dish of hot corn.

Application in traditional medicine: does not apply.
