Cyclonamine – composition and action of the drug

The main ingredient that determines the therapeutic properties of Cyclonamine is etamsylate. Etamsylate is an organic chemical compound from the group of sulfonates with a hemostatic effect.

Etamsylate significantly shortens the bleeding time and has no effect on the prothrombin time. It also affects the initial stage of stopping bleeding. This compound increases the strength of capillary walls, and also reduces their permeability and brittleness. At the same time, it does not constrict the lumen of the blood vessels.

Orally administered etamsylate shows maximum effect after approximately 3 hours. This effect lasts up to 4-6 hours. Binds 95% with blood plasma proteins. It is not metabolized. It is mainly excreted unchanged in the urine. It is a drug supporting hemostatic therapy.

The full composition of the drug Cyclonamine depends on the selected form of the preparation:

  1. 1 hard capsule of Cyclonamine 500 mg contains 500 mg of etamsylate. The other ingredients are stearic acid, titanium dioxide (E 171), erythrosine (E 127), quinoline yellow (E 104) and gelatin;
  2. 1 tablet of Cyclonamine 250 mg contains 250 mg of etamsylate. The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal anhydrous silica, potato starch, magnesium stearate, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A) and sodium metabisulfite;
  3. 1 ampoule (2 ml) of solution for injection Cyclonamine 250 mg / 2 ml contains 250 mg of ethamsylate. The other ingredients are sodium metabisulfite, sodium sulfite anhydrous and water for injections.
