Characteristic of the variety
The Rovada redcurrant originated in the Netherlands. Outwardly, it looks like a strong or medium-sized bush, which is characterized by powerful replacement shoots.
The berries are collected in elongated and compact clusters. On average, one brush contains about 16 berries. The length of the brush can reach 20 cm. The weight of one Rovada redcurrant berry is about 1 g. The fruits are very beautiful, have a uniform rich color and shine in the sun. They have a characteristic taste and smell. Characterized by high productivity. It is thanks to its fruits that this species, according to many gardeners, deserves extremely positive reviews.
The leaves are dark green in color. The leaf blade is sublobate. Its lower surface is densely pubescent. To the touch, the leaves are dense and leathery, as well as wrinkled.
A characteristic feature is the elongated median lobe, the lateral lobes are sharp and short, and the base itself is straight.
Flowering is late, which makes it possible to classify the species as late-ripening. Berries can be stored on shoots for a long time. They tolerate transportation very well.
Features of agricultural technology
The plant is not whimsical. Planting seedlings is carried out in autumn or early spring. There are good survival rates.
Before planting, you need to soak the root system for three to five hours. In the planting pit, the root system must be completely accommodated. The seedling is planted at an angle and to a depth of 8 cm. The distance between the shoots should be at least 2 m. The distance between the rows is 1,5 m. After planting, the seedling should be watered abundantly. You should also periodically mulch the soil with peat or sawdust. This will help reduce moisture loss and increase the growth potential of the planted bush.
Landing must be done in well-lit and humid places that are well protected from the wind.
The plant has sufficient resistance to both frost and various diseases (especially mildew). Fruit bushes of this species are considered one of the most profitable commercial varieties.
