Growing curly strawberries
Grow strawberries in a vertical bed. This has its advantages:
- landings take up a minimum of space;
- there is no need for weeding;
- berries do not lie on the ground and do not rot;
- harvesting from such beds is very convenient.
At the same time, you will spend a minimum amount of effort in the care.
To grow strawberries, a simple design is made. Holes with a diameter of about 3-4 cm are made in a barrel or pipe. They are located at a distance of 20-25 cm from each other. A smaller diameter pipe with small holes is installed inside. Water and fertilizers are poured through it.
For cultivation, make good drainage: add gravel, pieces of brick, expanded clay, coarse sand to the soil. Choose loose soil.
Leave the root collar at ground level, do not deepen it
Fill the container with the substrate and water. Place a plant bush in each hole. The roots should go to a depth of 8 cm. At first, the earth will sag and it needs to be poured into the container.
Choose a sunny location for planting or installing blocks. Plant strawberries in spring or fall.
Water the strawberries early in the morning. Do not overdry the earth. Remove the first stalks. Leave 3-5 whiskers on one bush. In this case, you will get a rich harvest.
Cover vertical beds for the winter. Fertilize strawberries with rotted mullein and mineral fertilizers.
Now you can easily grow a delicious berry with minimal care.
