It is often classified in the category of foreplay, like a simple caress. However, cunnilingus is a sexual practice in its own right, which consists in stimulating the female sex with the mouth. How is it practiced and what are the golden rules to achieve pleasure during cunnilingus?
What is cunnilingus?
Cunnilingus is oral sex, which involves stimulating a woman’s sexual organs with her tongue and lips. It can be performed by both men and women, and is considered one of the “classic” practices that are part of foreplay. Cunnilingus consists of stroking, kissing, licking, sucking or nibbling the entire area around the pubis: the clitoris, lips, vagina and anus of the recipient. It can be practiced with the tongue only, or by alternating strokes with the fingers. The idea is to alternate the different movements until reaching orgasm by stimulating the clitoris and / or the vagina.
How to do cunnilingus?
Every woman is different, so there is no set guide for successful cunnilingus. The important thing is to listen to your partner and to feel if the latter is reactive to your stimuli. Cunnilingus is a practice linked to the pleasure of women, which aims to excite and provide sensations. Know that the entire area between the thighs and the lower abdomen is erogenous.
You can therefore alternate your caresses between the different parts of this area: pubis, clitoris, vagina, anus, etc. The ideal remains, however, at the height of excitement, to concentrate your caresses on the clitoris: this is where the pleasure will be maximum. Do not hesitate, in addition to your tongue, to use your fingers to come and stroke the area around it. Finally, don’t forget that the clitoris, a woman’s organ of pleasure, surrounds the vaginal walls. By penetrating the vagina, whether with your fingers or your tongue, you therefore accentuate the stimulation of the clitoris.
The best positions to practice cunnilingus
The most classic position is that of the missionary: the woman is lying down, and her or her partner is also lying down, at the level of her pubis. This position is comfortable for both people and allows you to stay installed for a while. However, there are other positions for practicing cunnilingus. The so-called “69” position, where the two people are head-to-tail, allows oral sex and cunnilingus, or two cunnilingus at the same time. One is lying on their back and the other is positioned on top in the opposite direction, or both are lying on their side. This very sensual position allows both partners to experience pleasure simultaneously, whether in a heterosexual or homosexual couple. Cunnilingus can also be performed in other positions: the woman can be standing, or sitting on a chair or on the edge of a bed for example.
The golden rules of the cunni
The female sex is a very sensitive area. So be careful not to hurt your partner, especially with your teeth. Gently nibbling or titillating the lips can be very pleasant for the one who receives cunnilingus, but can also be very painful if done too hard. Likewise, if the practice lasts a while, it may happen that the area dries up slightly. Make sure your partner is always lubricated, especially with your saliva. Also keep in mind that it’s all about the rhythm and variation of the strokes. Don’t be monotonous, and try to modulate the speed of your movements, paying attention to your partner’s reactions. Finally, don’t forget that once orgasm is reached, the clitoris will once again become a very sensitive area, and the slightest contact can be painful.
Beware of STIs and other diseases
Cunnilingus, like other sexual practices, is not without danger. Although we think about it less often, always keep in mind that some sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are transmitted through sexual fluids (love juice for women), and therefore during oral sex. Although there is almost no risk of HIV transmission during cunnilingus, it is however recommended to avoid this practice during the period of the rules, the blood being a liquid vector of the virus. On the other hand, the risk of transmission is high for infections such as hepatitis B, chlamydia, syphilis or genital herpes, which is transmitted very easily on contact with the mucous membranes. To protect yourself against these STIs during cunnilingus, the only solution is to use a dental dam or a cut male condom.
How to do cunnilingus: expert advice
Cunnilingus is undeservedly considered one of the most difficult sexual activities. Apparently, this stereotype follows from another – about the “complexity” and “mysteriousness” of the female genitalia. The advice below will refute this absurd notion.
