Nezhinskie is a versatile variety that does not lose its merits over time.

Growing cucumbers of the Nezhinsky variety from seeds

There are many ways to grow cucumbers. The simplest and fastest is sowing seeds in open ground. This is done in late April – early May, when the frosts recede and the soil warms up to about 12 ° C.

Before planting seeds, they must be disinfected; for this, treat them with a solution of potassium permanganate or another solution with active bacteria in the composition.

Planting seeds in open ground is as follows.

  1. Find a landing site. It is best to grow cucumbers after cabbage, potatoes, carrots or onions.
  2. Prepare the soil in the fall. Dig up the ground, remove weeds and add organic fertilizers. So the earth will warm up faster in spring.
  3. In the spring, dig up the ground again to keep it loose and light.
  4. Prepare the beds: make holes about 15 cm apart. The distance between the rows must be at least 60 cm.
  5. Deepen a few seeds into each hole, about 2,5 inch (XNUMX cm) deep. Cover them with earth and tamp the top layer.
  6. Pour water over the ground and cover with plastic wrap. This will keep it moist and warm.

This completes the sowing process, and in a week the first shoots should appear. They need to be fed with nitrogen, magnesium and phosphorus by spraying. After a few leaves appear, leave the healthiest and strongest one.

A good harvest will not take long if the gardener follows the sequence of actions during sowing.

Basic care of young seedlings

During the cultivation process, it is necessary to take care of the crop.

  • Water the sprouts with warm water 2-3 times a week, in the evening. It is better to do this by sprinkling so as not to blur the holes.
  • Remove weeds from the beds and loosen the soil to prevent crusting.
  • Feed the plant 3 times a month. Use compost for the first time, and then organic and mineral fertilizers.
  • Spray the plant with special disease and pest control agents.
  • As the crop grows, make supports and tie cucumber bushes to them.

Thus, plant care consists of ordinary, simple procedures. They must be done, and then in 2 months the first crop will appear on the garden bed.

Grow cucumbers in the garden and enjoy their taste all year round.
