Cucumber Gosh F1 is an early ripe high-yielding hybrid. The variety is suitable for growing in a greenhouse, on a loggia, it is unpretentious to cultivation conditions. Zelentsy in a gherkin type plant.
History of origin
The agricultural company “Partner” is engaged in the sale of the Gosha F1 hybrid. An early ripe self-pollinating variety has recently appeared on the market. In 2017, the plant was tested on experimental plots “Dacha”, owned by the company.
Description of gosh cucumbers
The culture belongs to the parthenocarpic species, does not need pollination. The fruits are tied in clusters (3-4 pieces) in each leaf axil. The first harvest of a vegetable crop is carried out 40–45 days after seed germination. The optimal fruit size is 9–12 cm, weight 100–110 g.
The surface of the greenery is rough, dotted with small spikes. The taste qualities are excellent. The fruits are pleasant to the taste, sweet, do not contain bitterness. They tolerate transportation well, keeping their presentation for up to seven days. Gosh cucumbers stay fresh for about two weeks in the refrigerator. Harvest is used for conservation, salads. After heat treatment, cucumbers retain their taste and shape.
Characteristic of the variety
Variety Gosha F1 is recommended to be cultivated in a greenhouse, as it shows the highest productivity in greenhouse conditions. The hybrid is shade tolerant.
There are practically no seeds in the fruits of Gosha, the bushes are powerful. After the appearance of 3-4 leaves, it is recommended to tie the plant on a trellis, twisting it clockwise. In height, the cucumber stem can reach 2 m. The degree of growth activity of the main and side shoots is average. The leaves of the Gosha variety are large, five-lobed, emerald green in color.
The yield of gosh cucumbers
Compliance with agrotechnical standards guarantees a cucumber yield of up to 18 kg per 1 m2. From each bush they collect – 9,5–10 kg.
Disease and pest resistance
The Gosh F1 hybrid is endowed with high immunity by breeders, resistant to most diseases. To avoid infection of plantings, it is recommended to carry out preventive measures in time.
Diseases from which gosha cucumbers can suffer:
- If you do not follow the irrigation regime, root rot develops on the bushes. The disease is not treatable, the plant withers.
- Olive blotch is manifested by yellowing of the fruit, followed by the appearance of rusty spots on them. The infection enters the greenhouse through weeds, is brought in by infected inventory. Having noticed the first signs of the disease, it is necessary to treat the bushes with copper-containing preparations, disinfect the frames and garden tools.
- Bacteriosis appears at high humidity in the room. The leaves of the plant are covered with yellow spots. To secure the planting of cucumbers, it is necessary to maintain humidity indicators at a level not higher than 70%.
The most dangerous pests for cucumber Gosh F1 are greenhouse whitefly, aphids, spider mites and slugs. To minimize the appearance of insects, it is necessary to maintain optimal air humidity and temperature in the greenhouse, loosen the soil in a timely manner.
Advantages and disadvantages
Every culture has its advantages and disadvantages. Before you start planting cucumbers, you need to choose the optimal variety.
Advantages of the variety:
- high taste indicators;
- unpretentiousness in care;
- shade tolerance;
- transportability;
- long shelf life;
- ultra early maturation;
- good productivity;
- versatility (zelentsy are suitable for fresh consumption and for conservation).
There were no deficiencies in Gosha F1 hybrid cucumbers.
Planting gosh cucumbers
The pre-sowing preparation of seeds is carried out by the manufacturer, so the planting material does not need additional processing. It is recommended to withstand the terms of sowing gosh cucumbers. To ensure uniform germination, the seeds are germinated by placing them in a tray and wet gauze. As it dries, the cloth is moistened with water.
Sowing in open ground
Gosha cucumbers are planted on an open bed not earlier than the soil warms up to 11-12 ° C. The site for cultivation should be chosen in partial shade so that the plant does not burn under the direct rays of the sun. Cucumbers prefer light loamy soil, with an acidity of 6,2–6,8 pH. The plot is dug up in the spring a week before sowing.
Growing seedlings
The delicate root system of the plant does not like picks. In order not to injure her once again, it is recommended to plant Gosha for seedlings in separate glasses. For filling containers, an agro-mixture purchased in specialized stores is ideal.
Seeds are buried in the soil by 1,5–2 cm, watered with warm settled water. The glasses are covered with plastic wrap, placed in a warm place for germination. In heated greenhouses, it is recommended to plant cucumbers directly into the soil, bypassing sowing for seedlings.
Rules for the care of gosh cucumbers
Compliance with agrotechnical standards for the care of the Gosha F1 hybrid will provide the gardener with delicious fruits for the whole year.
Loosening beds, removing weeds
The first 3 weeks of cultivation loosening the soil is carried out the next day after each watering. Manipulations are carried out by deepening the hoe by 2,5 cm into the soil, without affecting the root system. After that, weed removal and loosening is sufficient to carry out once a week.
Watering
Gosh cucumbers are a moisture-loving variety. During the period of growth of lashes and ripening of greens, it requires frequent watering. Irrigation is carried out with warm settled water, as cold water leads to the development of root rot.
During the growth period, before flowering, watering is carried out once a week, during the ripening period – every 2-3 days. In hot weather, irrigation can be daily, then the greenhouse should be ventilated. To improve the air permeability of the soil, it is necessary to loosen more often.
Tying and removing antennae
In greenhouses, gosha cucumbers are tied to trellises, after which they are directed upwards. It is recommended to monitor the growth of the antennae, remove them in a timely manner, as they take away nutrients from the plant. If the mustache grows intensively, then the bush is healthy, does not need anything. The growing season of the plant is over when the tendrils begin to dry out.
Feeding rules
Cucumber Gosha, cultivated in greenhouse conditions, needs to be fed.
3-4 days after the emergence of shoots, ammonium nitrate is added. Gosha seedlings can also be fed with liquid nitrogen fertilizers. You must strictly follow the instructions. An excess of nitrogen causes a burn of the root system and the death of the plant. Opponents of mineral fertilizers use bird droppings in a ratio of 1:20 or mullein 1:10. A source of potassium for young plants can be wood ash dissolved in water.
During the period of flowering and budding of cucumbers, a second top dressing is carried out. The following ingredients are used (per 10 liters of water): potassium nitrate (20 g), ammonium nitrate (30 g), superphosphate (40 g). Mineral fertilizers are prepared from bird droppings (the ratio of parts of water and poultry waste products is 1:20) or mullein (0,5 liters per bucket of water).
The third feeding is carried out to stimulate the formation of the ovary; during this period, the Gosha hybrid needs calcium and potassium. Both components are found in wood ash. To prepare the infusion, the bucket is filled 1/3 with the product of combustion of plant materials, the remaining 2/3 parts are poured with hot water. The container is placed in a dark place for two days. After filtering the solution, make a volume of 0,5 liters under each bush. After 10 days, the procedure should be repeated.
The fourth top dressing is necessary for the correct formation of greens. It is carried out during the fruiting period. To prepare a solution, 15 g of potassium nitrate are dissolved in 25 liters of water. Adherents of organic fertilizers recommend using herbal infusion to feed cucumbers. Any weed is suitable for its preparation. Shredded grass is put in a bucket, poured with warm water, insisted for three days. Before use, the infusion is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:5.
Conclusion
Cucumber Gosha F1 is popular with gardeners due to its high yield, good taste and versatility. Growing a crop in a greenhouse allows you to get sweet fruits all year round.
