Cucumber syrup is often used to make refreshing and tonic cocktails. It has a neutral flavor and a pleasant greenish color, making the syrup a good base for other fruits that are too harsh.
Classic Cucumber Syrup Recipe
Ingredients
Cucumber – 500 g
Sugars – 500 g
Water – 1 glass
Mint and lemon
Method of preparation
Prepare a base syrup of water and sugar
While it is cooking, wash and wipe the cucumbers. The skin can be peeled, but it is not necessary. The peel gives a brighter green color to the syrup.
Grind the cucumbers in a blender, or grate them on a grater.
Squeeze the juice from the lemon, tear the mint leaves with your hands and carefully combine all the ingredients with the boiling syrup.
Cucumbers should not be boiled for a long time, 2-3 minutes of boiling is enough.
Strain the syrup through a strainer and pour into a clean, dry bottle.
The syrup is stored in the refrigerator, in a tightly closed bottle for 2 weeks.
